| Be gutted to see walker go and especially not to wire. I read the other day sutty linked to Wigan too. Hope that ain't true either. Like others I have seen I would love for us to go for Patton. His sister works at my sons school and I don't think he is happy with the game time he is getting. But isn't gidley out of contract at end of the season so would wire really let him go unless they have someone else lined up

| Not just fans impressed by Walker, even Mac was raving about him when he had short spell in seniors...so hopefully GH will have sense to keep him.

| The first thing is to recognise that Burrow isn't a halfback. I don't see any point in playing him there or having him round "just in case" as a halfback, as he's just not good enough there and would just block a kid who might get better.
Next is to understand what McGuire is doing next year. Whilst he's been great and if he wants to play on another year I would be OK with it, he needs to make a decision ASAP so the club can plan around him.
Third is to decide if Moon is going to stay in the halves regularly. Personally I'd have no problem with that if McGuire stays or we have a plan with him there.
After that what we need can be worked out.
WHilst I'd love the club to sign someone of quality, it really needs to be planned out. Worse than what we have now is signing someone who's average at best but blocks a position for 3 years.

| Agree BR. I think if McGuire goes another year, which is likely, then we should use Moon as back up half and put him back to centre still his best position for me, Burrow is best as impact from the bench.
That leaves a decision to be made on whether we go with Lilley from next season or bring someone in. I still think bringing in an experienced organiser for a couple of years would help us no end but who that would be i have no idea.

I would like to ask, if you bring in an experienced organiser for a couple of years, and I don't dissagree wtih you, what is the point at all in McGuire been there. The only point in him there at present is that he is allegedly the organiser and the experienced. If that role goes to the new one, then McGuires point in been there is null.
Personally I dont' think it is good enough as it stands, so why we would persevere for another year with it seems pretty silly.

Well i think, as BR said, McGuire needs to state really what he intends to do whether that be finish this year or go round one more then call it a day that would make things a bit clearer. I think McGuire is still a good enough all round half back to hold his own in SL, he just isn't enough on his own to lead a team round the park. I still see a point in him, with a Sinfield type by his side again he could be effective for another year for sure.

| I'm sure GH is fully aware of McGuire's plans even if it's not been made public.
Personally I think it'll be his last season.

Maybe not til his replacement's signed. I suspect GH would prefer to do any negotiating from the standpoint of "well, we wouldn't mind signing player X, if the price was right, but if it can't be done we've always got DMcG".

| Myler might not be a bad idea, again depending on who he was playing alongside. I can't see him and Moon going that well together. TBH he's as good as most NRL options we're likely to pick up.

| Happy with that - if its true. Good player who will only get better with us. Plus as has been mentioned, he's hitting his prime, so we should get the best years of Richie Myler.
Sounds abit like a YouTube compilation video title that.

| I'm happy with Myler if true. Reckon he would work well with Lilley and he's better than most of the aussies named on this thread without taking up a quota spot.

| Myler is a good shout and if not Dec Patton.
Not sure Lilley and Myler will compliment each other as to me they have similar styles.

| Myler as a replacement for McGuire might work well... McGuire of 2005 maybe - Myler has the pace to finish breaks that McGuire has struggled to finish off for the last 5 years or more, but I'm uncertain that he has the all-round organising and kicking game that we need.
While I like Myler as an individual, who will pull the strings? Lilley could still come good, but imagine him on the field (gawd help us) with Burrow and Myler at the same time! A shame Sutcliffe didn't seem to take to the half-back role.
