Amen to that.
On a more positive note for the game at large three of the previously regarded big four defeated on the same night provides amply evidence that the order still has churn in it late in to the season. The only exception last night and this season generally is Wigan who (with no Challenge Cup distraction) should at least make it to Old Trafford and deservedly so on the evidence so far. Having said that the Play-Off format is a dog where one below par performance in week 1 could turn their season upside down.
A Harlequins side (containing only one antipodean) defeating the once SL flagship Bulls, the 'mighty s' going down at home to a side created four seasons ago who are currently propping up the league and Hull KR completing a league double over Leeds RL for the first time in 25 seasons while also inflicting coach McClennan's first defeat in Hull and Leeds' first defeat at the hands of Alibert.
It's taken a while to get here but the days of the better teams (on paper) just turning up putting in a poor performance and still getting a win are diminishing which can only be good for the game.

The example given to him in that case will have been 1st class, the student needs to up his game.
Having not seen much at all of McShane I was willing to give him and his supporters the benefit of the doubt but the more I've seen of him recently the more I'm persuaded to accept the view Leeds knew what they were doing when assembling their squad for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.
Quote ="Era of the Biff"Thing is though, we were awful, Hull KR were escellent yet we still had enough chances to win it.'"
Leeds were awful because in part they didn't take the chances they created. One went hand in hand with the other.
The chances were bombed, Leeds were awful and deservedly got nothing out of the game.
KR also made numerous handling errors in a poor quality game generally. Where they outperformed Leeds by the bucket load was in the respective kicking games.

no we were missing five, 4 centres at the club, our first choice pair welham and webster, their back ups ratu and walker (yes I know he's been missing all season) and our first choice winger in colbon, I trust Leeds don't only have 4 threequarters on their books?
we had a fullback and a wigan reserve playing his first superleague game as our centres and a young lad who plays 13 in the reserves (Latus) on the wing so your argument is bollox

Don't talk rubbish. Could you have played 4 centres? No.
Just remind us how you would fit these 4 players into the 2 centre positions?

| What the hell happened to you guys? After beating us, Warrington and Saints all within a few weeks of each other I was calling you the team to beat and a reasonable bet for the double, then you go and get beat by Hull K.R! Was it complacency or just being outplayed?

| For 80 minutes Leeds were the second best side.
However we had enough scoring chances to win the game, which is a lift.
5 chances - that could have earned us 30 possible points.
- McGuire - double movement. If the replay hadn't have been avaiable it would have been given.
- Bailey - Peacock put him away, he should have controlled and scored.
- Ablett - just short, should have gone over from there.
- Hall x 2 - the butter fingers!! He usually scores those regulation scores. He looked like he wanted to kick himself.
So without any control in the game, we could have won it. I thought we made lots of yards out wide and looked dangerous. We just couldn't find the end product.
McShane and Kirke wound me up last night with some weak tackling down the middle, even when they had a hold of a KR player it would still take 5/10 metres 'til they were 'downed'.
We really need to step up in defence and turn the screw.
Sinfield's kicking game was awful too, KR's was first class - nice weight on the kicks, forced drop-outs etc. That's where the game was won and lost.
Nice to Burrow carving out our only score, any news on the knock he picked up?
I think Bluey should have brought JJB and Bailey back into the game sooner, we were screaming for some pace and quick play the balls, these 2 are better players in this area down the middle.
We're making life hard for ourselves.
I wonder which Leeds team will turn up next week??

Quite surprising that, as it's his handling (and he has some shocking passes to take at times) that sets him apart from many wingers in SL IMO.

It's on the official website that he just jarred the knee rather than it being a recurrence, so should be OK for next week. Good news because he really picked up the pace when he came on.

Yeah, just a bad day at the office from him.
IMO his strongest attribute is his ability to really power through a kick return. He's a big lad. Whereas Donald will use blind pace and evasion, Hall will just try to run through the defenders.
His biggest weakness is his constant need to drift in off his wing when we are under pressure on our try line. He has to have confidence in the sliding cover. Sometimes he's left in no-mans-land. Hence why he looks a bit jittery in this area.
But a couple of dropped balls when the game had probably gone away from us, isn't the biggest issue of the day - by far.

he went really well, missed a tackle on Abblett when Magcuire nearly scored but other than that he did well, looks a good prospect IMHO

you play your 1st choice players, if there out injured you then play your back up players, but if there out injured to then you have too find someone else to play there dont you?
2 centres + plus too other centres + a winger = 5
Welham, Ratu, Webster, Walker, Colbon, im pretty sure thats 5,
you were missing Buderus and Diskin yes? but do you count that as missing only 1 player as the others the back up hooker???

Well seeing as Leeds play a hooker on the bench every week why wouldnt they count the 2nd hooker?
I've chosen not to count Watkins or Ben Jones Bishop who is the true backup full back but feel free to carry on believeing that beating a reserve string Leeds is some sort of guide to grand final glory

It's a big thing to do the double over leeds for the first time in 25 years. Obviously means nothing in the long run but it's something to be enjoyed at the time. Especially on the fact that we are heading into the derby on the back of a good win

I agree. I was at both games the last time you did the double, and the semi final draw at ER. Unfortunately for you guys I think that was the last year of your glory years (apart from the cup final of course. Ouch) and I think it was all down hill after that.
0-54 at old craven park was a tough old game for me to take. Cant remember the year.

The 0 - 54 was the Premiership QF of 1983/84 season.
The crazy thing was Leeds had gone there the week before and won against all the odds 20 - 16 against the newly crowned Champions and edging out Wigan and Oldham for the final Premiership Play-Off place.
