Once that's done I can get on with not caring too much how he's played down under and wait to see how he gets on here.

Unbelievable signing. 24yrs old, serious shoulder problems and only managed 8 NRL games, all off the bench. Not sure where the utility tag is coming from as all of his Toyota Cup games at Wests were in the back row.

Surely it's a signing that sticks two fingers up at the likes of Stewart, Singleton and Clarkson.

Cant imagine he's on a massive amount but as the blurb says SL is going to struggle to attract the top Aus/NZ talent so we are going to have to take a punt on the young untried talent available.

Looks like a Matt Adamson but without the show pony antics. I'm not sure what it says about a player when he can play both Centre and Prop? The type of 'take a punt' signing that we can expect for Aus in future.

on the one hand it looks a kick in the teeth for some really talented players in the u20's. on the other hand nobody had heard of kylie before he came over and he has been sensational in his leeds time.

lets see who he replaces. I would hope that this signing would be part of a cull of "established" players who are not performing to the desired level, as suggested by GH a few months ago. I won't hold my breath though.
I presume he is not the world class replacement for Buderus.

I reckon he must have been recommended by someone over in Oz.

Maybe a really good prospect who needs a break, although 4 yrs is a rather big commitment especially if he turns into a duff signing.

Hmmm.. well it's one of those signings where we'll have to trust GH. He sounds like he could be very useful at 6ft 5 and 18 stone.. the vid i've seen of him seems to point that way... but we will see.. wonder if there's 1 more to follow..

So I will wait and see what he looks like when he comes over and take it from there. I just hope he pulls in the right stats for his sake.

First and foremost the positives;
He looks big so if he can carry it well we do lack size in the backrow.
Still young
English family so should settle fairly well if he has family around etc.. though I dont know where they are based.

The negatives for me though outweigh at the moment;
Do we need another backrower? We have JJB, Clarkson, Delaney,Ablett, Weller, Stevie not to mention the likes of Singleton etc.. coing up.
At this point he sounds like a 'never made it in Oz' type so not exactly a marquee signing.
Two shoulder recons does not bode well.

When I first read his size I thought great 'a big, young prop, just what we need' Im expecting him to slot in there.

If that happens then Im happy, and will be happier when we sign a quality centre as well.

I don't think there's many writing him off mate - just not that many getting excited over a player that no-ones heard of.

As tad says - just wait and see, he might be another Kylie or he might be another Cross. We just don't know.
