As we didn't pay a transfer fee for him I'm not fussed that we didn't get one for him when he moved. Hardly a bad deal if you just pay the guy for the time he's played for us, it's not like we paid him 3 years in advance and now can't get the money back.

I had a word with him after the semi final defeat against Wigan and asked him what his biggest regret was? He expressed his disappointment at not being able to arrange a flight back home until Tuesday.

It looked like those who questioned the signing in the first place were proved right. He was at least open in his early post signing interviews when he said the money was too good to turn down... better than the always had a desire to play in SL at 31 speel imo.

The "link up" with the Bunnies was more to do with the business side of each club with the "possibillity" of younger players exchanging clubs at no point did either club state categorically that we would definately get players coming over.

To be fair the Doggies announcement only appears to be about young players and backroom people.

I don't think we'll be getting any 1st team Doggies player in 'exchange' for Eastwood,certainly not for next season.

I can see it now, 'No point in making a signing just for the sake of it and with Eastwood possibly staying on (as if) circumstances have unfortunately transpired against Leeds as the market has settled. However should a world class player become available during 2011 Leeds will be poised with cap and quota space available to secure their services. In the meantime the emergence of Clarkson and Ambler have reduced the urgency in finding an immediate replacement.

Can't help but feel we are the ones that have lost on Eastwood going but he didnt settle and i wish him all the best. Its a shame as we have seen some real glimpse's of a top class player

Don’t know if it’s true or not but I heard somewhere (probably on here) that the reason the Eastwood didn’t settle was due to his girlfriend’s ex.
Apparently she has a kid with an ex boyfriend and it was him who prevented her from coming over to England to be with Gregg.

Eastwood was missing some sweet sugar if you know what I mean.

Doesnt look like it's going to be such an attractive proposition moneywise for the overseas players in the coming year.
