I never had any intention of coming. I'm too apathetic about televised away games to care about pricing. Even more so if actually attending means suffering a trip into Hull.

Do you feel the same about Wigan and their policy of charging more for the away fan?

It's 20 quid in the DW less if you pay in advance. Plus it's a nice ground with lots of nice flags. You can also go for a drink before and have good natured banter without the fear of being beaten up.

| Just a quick question - the people who set the price structure - do they have any previous experience in customer service with specific emphasis on how to retain casual customer loyalty ?

Its the flags that clinch it for me, flags every time, I'd pay more than £20 just for the flags.

With "Ancient and Loyal - Ultras" piped onto it with icing, passed over the heads of the crowd ...

If I buy it in advance it's the same price as the home fans or if not its an entire pound more, meh. But Wigan haven't made the "away stand" the most expensive in the stadium have they? Why have Hull FC? No-one appears able to answer this simple question.

It's not the most expensive stand in the stadium unless you pay on the day, and then - in your own words - it's an entire pound more, meh.
The folk who run FC have identified that the club lives or dies on the strength of it's home crowds, not away fan numbers. These have always bordered on pitiful, with a few exceptions, regardless of pricing. Coupled with our user agreement - which limits what we can do regarding discounted tickets - the pricing structure has been set to try and convince home fans who drifted away under the last regime to return. It's a business decision, nothing more, and like any other business decision it's success or failure will become apparent when the figures are done at the end of the financial year.

So it is the most expensive stand in the stadium, which is bizarre with it being behind the posts. It is done to try and get extra cash from away fans, presumably to help subsidise the cheaper south stand tickets for home fans.
It's a strange system. If Hull wanted to incentivise home fans then they could make season tickets cheaper or do bring a friend for free schemes etc but deliberately increasing the price for away fans is a strange way of incentivising home fans. And away fans have every right to point out the unfairness of the pricing structure. Plus the ridiculous defence of everything & anything Adam Pearson does from Hull fans is frankly embarrassing.

| It no longer matters why there is a disparity between the prices for the home and away supporters.
It matter not a jot that our web-toed eastern cousins will vigorously defend this ridiculous policy.
The damage is already done. Everyone outside of a 5 mile radius of the overpriced KFC now thinks that they will be paying over the odds for the customary abuse from ASBO corner and the potential for getting bricked on the way home.
Now when people think of the KFC they will associate it with being overpriced and a place where you’re likely to get abused.

If this is your attitude to away fans at the KFC you lot are in a lot more trouble than you think, fans will start voting with there feet eventually. I will still be there on saturday no matter what price is being charged, but I wont be happy paying it.
As for being derogatory I was speaking from MANY personal experiences at hull, as most on this board are. If your club are intent on charging top whack prices they ought to look at providing a top whack experience.
See you on saturday.'"

Yeah - all those extra £1 coins really add up.
If you wanted a system to fleece away fans the price differential would be much higher and would apply to both advance and on the day sales. The fact that a remarkable number of away fans are just plain cheap is not down to the FC management.

ST pricing was adjusted. Bring a friend for free won't work with our user agreement - we'd actually lose money as we'd be paying the SMC for non-paying punters. Many FC fans initially disagreed with the pricing structure but have since got so peed off with all the whining and hand-wringing have changed their minds.
Come or don't. It's a free(ish) country, and at least the pricing is a new excuse for being absent.

| But its not an extra £1 is it? Its an extra £6 for a comparative stand.
So, once again, why is the "away stand" the most expensive part of the stadium when it's behind the posts if it's not to make extra money from away fans?
It's 13 pages and no-one has answered it yet. You can try and defend it all you want but there's probably a reason why fans of every other club are complaining about the pricing policy.
Season tickets are £250. How much were they before if that's a discounted rate?
Why did Hull enter into such a restrictive agreement with the SMC then? It seems daft to have an agreement that doesn't allow for effective marketing and promotions. It's not in the SMC's interest either to have less people at the stadium. Wasn't Adam Pearson the Head of the SMC?
So FC fans thought the plan was stupid? But when other people agreed with them the plan was stupid the FC fans have changed their mind to think its a good plan? I know logic isn't popular in the area around the KC but I didn't think illogical thought had reached such Spock-like proportions in Hull. Although if that kind of thinking is rife it does go someway to explain Big Brother & his posts.

| When I think of Leeds I think of delusions of grandeur that this Northern City (where people talk funny) is the Barcelona of the North PMSL.
When I think of Leeds I think of Beeston with high levels of poverty and racial crimes.
Then you have no go areas like the wonderful Chapeltown where gun crime is the norm.
And then you the complete dump of a stadium which is Headingley that will cost you 20 quid to stand or 30 for a centre seat
But yea a Hull is a dump and Leeds is really posh you know
