| Was thinking about the whole 'Bob Nudd' situation when the BBC 'lost' thousands of his votes to stop him winning it years ago and if the vote could now be manipulated with technology and had a thought... I've posted the below on the VT, but thought I'd stick it on here and see what people think....
Going off on a bit of a tangent here, but I wonder if it would be possible to use a 'dialler' type system as used in outbound call centres to create mass votes..... If so, would it be worth it for a sponsor or rich RL owner to pay for it? By my reckoning, 15p a vote, plus the cost of running a dialler for 1 night, I reckon £20k-ish would get you 100k votes.... £20k for prime time BBC advertising of RL and then all the associated national press coverage.... Hell, I'd say it would even be worth the RFL looking to fund it (if possible)...
I know it's cheating, but I was always taught 'if you're not cheating, you're not trying....'....
Seriously though, Sinfield would hate winning it that way - but it would be for the greater good of our game.

| As the big day draws closer, the crooks at the BBC will have got wind of the big campaign to have Sinny lift the big prize. I"m sure they will have "plans" in place to make sure it can't happen. As for team of the year, the Beeb will have already decided that our Davis cup players slaying many "Giants" from outside the top 100 ranked players in the world is justification to award them the team of the year. Ahh, who will ever forget the day we bested the might of Belgium and their famous stars including.............was one them called Van Damme, Tin Tin or something ?

Problem the BBC would have is that if Sinfield doesn't make the top 3 then looking at the odds then Fury will be the one to make it (with Murray and Ennis-Hill). Whilst they've resisted the calls for his removal, I doubt they'll want Fury finishing in the top 3. Ideally they'd have Hamilton but the bookies have lengthened his odds since the nominees were announced from around 8/1 to now 33/1.
Agree about the tennis. The Davis Cup is a Mickey Mouse competition that most of the world's best sat out this year. Usually international success is the pinnacle in sport because it's the world best facing each other.....this clearly wasn't, it was Murray vs the world's 109th ranked player from Belgium. It was the tennis equivalent of England RL winning that tri nations in 2012 against Wales and France with no Australia and NZ (Djokovic and Federer) to face. Murray shouldn't even make the top 3 IMO but of course we know he will. It was either a team effort or an individual effort.....yet the tennis lot are probably going to win both which is ridiculous.

| Yes, it's all a conspiracy. I mean, just look at all those winners that have come from sports the BBC cover extensively.
2013: Murray (three weeks a year, Queens Club and Wimbledon)
2012: Bradley Wiggins (errm...)
2011: Mark Cavendish (errrm...)
2010: AP McCoy (nope)
2009; Ryan Giggs (Match of the Day and Football Focus)
2008: Chris Hoy (see Cavendish & Wiggins)
2007: Joe Calzaghe (must have been all that live boxing they have)
If you genuinely believe Sports Personality of the Year is fixed you need to get the tin foil helmet before "they" steal your dreams.

Can all season ticket holders buy him a pint or two and make sir kev's dream come true? Can still get 9/1 so the bookies are not convinced but might be worth a Cheeky dabble. What a way to end a magical year.

| So we need approx 300,000 votes (approx £45,000) with a bet of £5,000 at 9/1.
Anyone got any spare cash and a team of phoners??

| Well I hope he wins it.
Great captain and a very under rated player by many opposing fans.
His price has certainly dropped in recent weeks and I would love it if he landed the prize. I will vote for him and hopefully he will be in at least the top 3.
Good guys do win sometimes.

You can [icall[/i as many times as you like - the number will be made available on the night of the awards.
#BuyKevAPint - Buy Kevin Sinfield a Pint for SPOTY Success, If everyone in RL spends just £3, the cost of a pint, on 20 phone votes for him on Sunday night he will likely win SPOTY.
If you don't vote, RL will be left behind again. Lets make a stand for our sport and an RL legend. We might never have the same chance again.
#Kev4SPOTY - Please put club loyalties aside for this one and lets show the other sports what the RL Family can do.
Thanks.

To be fair i've seen and heard fans of ALL clubs say they'll vote for him which in my opinion has made this nomination feel even more special. For all the criticism of our sport being parochial, can you imagine if Wayne Rooney for example had been nominated, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea fans wouldn't been backing him the way the likes of our 'rivals' have backed Sinfield.

| As I posted on the Hull forum, I generally dislike all things Leeds and I've got enough memories of Sinfield slotting touchline conversions against us to last a life time. But you can't not respect the guy and everything he has achieved, and more importantly its great exposure for the sport. I'll be voting multiple times for him, and I think it will be a great shame if other clubs fan allow rivalry to prevent them doing the same.
Its not been a vintage sporting year, there is no stand out. 200,000 votes might be enough (definately enough for top 3) and that is easily achievable.

There are a few fans on their board though.Although not surprised really by this I watched a rerun of the GF last night and some the things they got up to off the ball was nothing less than nasty especially after they scored

| He was interviewed on the red carpet in the build up and said it's a big night for the game and hopefully it will get more than the usual 8-10 seconds coverage! surprised he said that well done Kev.
As a Hull fan I've got huge respect for him. A great ambassador for the game. Have Leeds been nominated for team of the year?
