| Segeyaro is a good player hopefully can be good for us for rest of season and maybe boost us for the push for eighth and maybe want to stay and get us back to the top next season.

| What is the point of this? I can see what Zak gets out of it but at first glance there is limited upside for us.
I'm rapidly losing faith in the management of the club at all levels.
Hope I'm proved wrong.

Meant to ask in my previous post as I don't really keep up with NRL so can't comment on Penrith. What are his chances of getting games at Penrith this year or beyond whether it be FB, centre or wing? How's their strength in those positions?

He'll only play fullback if Moylan moves up to stand-off, which might happen - they've currently got a second-row (Cartwright) and rookie (Cleary) in the halves. It might be more likely that he's played at centre as both of Penrith's first choices, Whare and Hiku, are out for the season.

| Phil Gould has already outlined where he sees Zak playing its at Centre & he'll play regularly imo.
Going forward with Soward out of favour Moylan can easily step into the HB role then Zak slots in at FB either way there's space for him at Penrith UF he performs.

I'm a bit mixed on the news too because of the uncertainty of what happens after this season. If it goes to plan and Segeyaro joins permanently then it's great but if not then worried about where that leaves us for 2017.

I never felt he worked at centre for us or England for that matter, it also nullifies arguably his greatest asset in his try saving ability
The plan at the start of the year was for Moylan to play 6 so that may well be what happens
A lot depends on how well he settles in and whether he gets on with the coach etc.

Agree! Zak is not a good centre..okay at RC, but awful at LC especially: he can't pass, especially to the left.
Hope he plays at FB otherwise he will definitely back tail between his legs

| So after struggling all season without a middle defence hooker ..we now have 2
Faloon must be on early release?
Great for remainder of season. Pity it's rather late in the day: we are still destined for middle 8 footie.
As others have said it still leaves us worringly devoid of a definite good rake for 2017....unless it spurs Faloon on to greater efforts and HE gets signed for 2017

He CAN pass but his pass selection is lacking
If we played to a structure like Wigan then he would have a ton of assists, its a lot harder to pick out the passes when we play so off the cuff
I don't watch Penrith much so I don't know how much he would suit their system, I do know that Moylan basically plays as a halfback anyway
They expect him to play in the centres because both their centres have long term injuries, but they are also currently playing a back rower and a guy in his rookie season in the halves so that may well also change

www.penrithpanthers.com.au/news/ ... _sege.html
segeyaro has been released from his contract at penrith with immediate effect,so maybe the club has other options that cover zak's salary for next season
if the rhinos don't receive any monetary recompense or a player swap deal then don't be surprised if garry states that zak has gone on an indefinate loan spell to the nrl but that the rhinos will hold onto his regestration (or a contract that ultimately means that he comes back to us on his return)
i wouldn't mind jamie soward for 2017

| Could turn out a tactical masterstroke by GH, get Segeyaro in and tied down we instantly have one of the best hookers in the comp (and there's a good chance he could stay, I doubt Ali and Webb envisioned spending the rest of their careers here where they joined at a similar age and reputation).
Meanwhile Zak gets his time away, if he goes well, we get a transfer fee or maybe another player. Maybe he sees the grass isn't always greener, or the space gives him time to get his head back screwed on, or maybe he just flops, and like Wigan with Burgess we get a quality English player back raring to go and prove people wrong AND Segeyaro.
I'm an optimist.

| Personally I would let achurch go now. Ablett and Delaney on way back. Let's go mad and be a pro club with 2 hookers. I expect McGuire and burrow to be halves for rest of year and I would interchange falloon and SegEyaro
This time of year McD usually sets his team up for season end. Injuries permitting I don't expect to see much more of Golding, lilley, Walters or handley this year. Sutcliffe at fb and you know the rest. We may want falloon for next year

I can't see Faloon getting much game time for the remainder of the year. In terms of releasing him, he would probably want his contract paying up in full, so we may as we'll keep him as a back up.

| Our squad for the rest of the year providing we get everyone back and no injuries I would like:
Sutcliffe
Briscoe Watkins Moon Hall
McGuire Burrow
Galloway Segeyaro Garbutt
Ferres Ablett
JJB
Falloon Delaney Singleton Cuthbertson
The tough decision comes when Ward gets back to match fitness.

Just watched this https://twitter.com/RLBarrieMc10/status ... 78432?s=08.
He may not be signed past this season but if we can get behind him, he'll find it hard not to fall in love with the place. Seems like a good bloke who has made some bad decisions. Hopefully coming to the club will help him sort himself out and love the game.

Ward plays if fit. That isn't a tough decision at all. The hardest choice is who to leave out of the back row. 3 of JJB, Cuthbertson, Keinhorst, Singleton?

| Watched the Emotional story about Segeyaro on the Footie Show, and like Damo says, if Leeds can make him feel wanted, and he gets his head back on the game, he could quite easily become a hero at the club. Welcome to Leeds James!

| I hope Hardaker goes well in the NRL. The game is a lot more structured here so his passing may well be good enough because they'll practice the same moves repeatedly. I'd say his problem with passing isn't the physical ability to pass, just that its almost always a second thought after running. what I haven't seen is any sense that Leeds have tried to work on it - at the Panthers he'll have to or will get found out and not picked.
