They can’t if he’s one of the top 25 paid players at Leeds.

| Couldn’t agree more to be honest. Sinfield has changed the way things have worked at the club and actually used the marquee spots, the transfer fees etc. This didn’t really happen before. He’s even moved a number of deadwood throughout the whole of the season.

| The abuse Sinfield has taken this year has been disgraceful. It wasnt his fault he inherited a mess.
He still has a long way to go but hes starting to turn it around. The recent signings have made a good impact.

| What we don`t know although some seem to think they do is if McDermott wanted to sign players like Hurrell and Merrin but was denied this by GH.
We also don`t know if BM wanted rid of JJB, Ablett and others but was prevented from doing so due to their contracts and possibly loyalty to GH.
Was it KS call to bring in Lolohea and Thompson or was that GH?
Very few will know what really goes on at the club just like how we all hold KS up as the playing messiah when at Leeds when many wanted him out of the team not long before he retired to be replaced by Sutcliffe.
What I`m trying to say is if we are playing well Sinfield has done well if we are playing poor Sinfield has messed up it fits the agendas of supporters and journalists.
End of the day we all want Leeds to win trophies and entertain us along the way.

| I suspect people thought Sinfield was being smoke and mirrors when he said it was a three year process to rebuild. Under promise and over deliver etc.
What you have to give him credit for is making big decisions and not shying away from the pressure. Whilst it was his call to appoint Furner in the first place, he didn't shy away from rectifying that when it all looked to be going wrong. And the Watkins/Parcell departures look to have worked in our favour up to now despite all the grumblings around when the moves happened.
Granted there have been some failings- JJB/Ablett/Crosby extensions and Thomson signings but outside of those there's clearly been a huge shift in our recruitment policy and I'll be interested to see if that continues if/when we manage to guarantee safety.

I think Lolohea was signed before Sinfield joined but announced after. Thompson was his call but unfairness it was only a short term signing to get us through the end of last season, he was quite rightly not offered a contract.
Sinfield has made a few poor calls but the club was in a mess I'm not surprised some poor calls were made, however, the calls he has made especially mid season (Ava, Moving Watkinsand Loloheah on, and bringing Lui and especially Martin in) seem to have been very good calls, aren't we 4 out of 6 (should be 5 out of 6 if we hadn't have messed up against Hull) since the latest have signed?
Sinfield biggest error was Furner but it takes some guts to admit that and sort it out fairly swiftly, surely that's what you want from people making the decisions.

I,ll add the caveat that too many mistakes and whoever makes them should go!

| Whilst having them round was a big mistake it would be nice to get clear and give JJB at least a send-off on the pitch. I'd also look to give McClelland a game and maybe a couple of others.

I really think we need to be looking at McClelland. I just don't see what we lose by him been in there. He is a stand out for Fev, doing the job he is asked to by club, far above the under 19's, and just look at the threads and the complaints about Myler. Give the lad a go, we are safe anyway.

Personally I'd prefer us not to bring in another scrum half. I'd like to see competition between McClelland & Myler, with the intention of McClelland stamping a claim for the 7 shirt in the future.

Agreed, to me he's really found his feet in league again the second half of the season. Iv been very impressed with every game he's played for Fev since there game with Halifax, including Toronto away, where he was very good imo.

| I'd be surprised if anyone but Agar gets the job.
He's done everything asked of him, we have looked better on the pitch, we have won games and look to be heading to safety and he has conducted himself very well in front of the media.
Of course the winning games is also down to the club bringing in better players but I'm not sure what else people really want from him.
Sure he isn't a fashionable name and people have a negative view of him from previous roles but I would be surprised if he was overlooked.

| For me the assistant coaches are just as important. Agar is a decent man-manager but there needs to be something else alongside him.
I don’t have a problem with it if they get the overall team right. There’s much more input going into a side these days then just one bloke smoking woodbines with a scowl.

Totally agree.
I'm not as up on all the backroom folk these days so can't say much but agree there needs to be a balance of skills and personalities there that compliment each other.

| I think it will be Agar and Carr for next season and I’ll be happy with that, getting an overseas coach in is always a gamble, Agar seems to gel with the players and it will give us some stability which is needed at the moment

| Surely more chance of it simply been Carr? Why would Carr leave his Fev job, for an assistant role? And if we go as we are now, with Carr part time, then we simply don’t learn.

| What happened to the Flanagan rumours, at least he was a proven coach.
Interestingly, Carr would’ve been coaching at Cronulla during Flanagan’s time there.
The other name in the frame was Demetriou, who whilst not having had a head coach job at NRL or SL level, does have a track record of success below that, and has now been involved successfully under Wayne Bennett for some time.
I wouldn’t be against either route there, Flanagan or Demetriou, but would prefer Carr stays and goes fulltime as part of any new setup for some stability.
Agar didn’t seem to want the role, and almost appears to have done it begrudgingly, albeit with some level of success of turning things round. Credit where it’s due there. But if he doesn’t really want the role, then let’s find someone that does. No point appointing for the sake of it. Get someone who has a point to prove, be that Flanagan rebuilding his name after the NRL ban, or someone like Demetriou who is looking to build his own career. The latter has the advantage of knowing SL at least after his time playing over here.
What I do want is a coach who has us playing a decent brand of rugby, look what Holbrook has achieved at Saints, they play with real pace and intensity which other teams are struggling to match. It’s actually great to watch the speed at which they play the game.
Invest in the right coach, add a class 6/7, plus an absolute unit of a prop, and we’re not a million miles away. Then place faith in the youngsters for the other squad gaps rather than more journeymen. We’re often told we have a generation of real talent coming through, give them the shot under the right calibre of intuitive and attacking coach, then watch us climb back up the table.
Sure I saw it on here a couple of days ago, that we may be overpaying some players, just to get them to come. Improve the coaching, play some quality rugby, and the right level of players will want to join again.

| What is the title of the job he held before this ? " head of coaching and player development " ? He stated he didnt want the coaching job permanently. If that is still his intention he may have an input as to who is next coach .
