Great result and credit to the guys for putting on a quality performance. Defence was awesome.
Let’s have another performance like this at Headingley next Friday, no more one good game, two bad games, now is the time for consistency and more effort. If they want us to renew our season tickets for next season ( and they will ) then let’s see the effort until the end of the season and see more games with the same effort as last night. This season we have seen too many false dawns only to be be let down following the next game, let’s have a good finish to the end of the season

I still think we’re only a few quality signings away from looking something like.

What I would observe though is that watching NRL sides, the whole team is in movement together AS a team. The ball carrier often has various options and it keeps defenders guessing. The shape is far superior to SL.

We still have a tendency to give it to the Big Lad and expect him to run through the opposition team; which sometimes works (Hurrell) but is pretty exhausting.

We looked good last night because for once we won the energy battle. Most weeks we’re gassed because we lack structure and then cough up silly penalties and errors on top of that.

Ferres was very good last night but still two soft cheaty penalties conceded when we could have done without it.

When Curhbo plays well we look a different side: but is this transformation truly just down to a change in coach and one new prop..? Maybe.

I thought Hicks was reasonably good last night, fairly consistent and didn't seem to get much wrong imo

I've seen glaciers move faster than hudds were clearing the ruck last night. Quite why they thought it'd still play in their favour when four scores behind, I'm not sure. But Hicks was consistent in that both sides were at it and he let it go in the main.

Don’t let the result or how well we played fool you. He still found at least 2 or 3 bizarre penalties to give against us.

With Lunt at the play the ball we had definite shape to our attack. Great defense opening 20 gave us the platform to build on. No stupid penalties and discipline was top notch. We seemed determined to slug it out until Hudds collapsed and then took advantage. Great strategy and looked like everyone bought into it.

I thought it was one of Hicks’ better games to be fair.
The only one’s that were a bit strange were letting Hudds move 3 or 4 steps forward nearly every play the ball, and the one when Walker was on his back on the line and was being held down by four of them, and he shouted "come on Jack, you could have got up then".......slightly bizarre

That proves it then Every time we've lost the ref has been poor or very biased. When we've won the ref has had a good game and has been very fair. Therefor, it's obvious, the referees are responsible for our position in the league.

Is anyone going to give any credit to Agar for this performance?

We’re still not where we probably should be, but I think Agar’s done a cracking job in the circumstances. Carr seems to have bolstered things too. We’re not safe but the team has been generally playing much better since Agar’s got to grips with them. The new signings have helped too though.

Not saying he’s necessarily the answer beyond this year but there we have it.

Can certainly see Carrs influence imo. Watch all Fev games on Fev TV and a massive part of there game is about dropping players of on inside balls, attacking weak shoulders and overchashing defenders, they use Brad Day (Quality player) like this non stop, was like watching Fev gameplan friday with Hurrell and Martin being used this way.

Ferres' pass for the Hurrell try was a lovely touch. If we can consistently get the edges running onto balls like that then we could do some real damage to teams I think- a few planned moves will benefit us no end and hopefully get us in a groove. Unfortunately a little too late in the season to make an impact but hopefully soon enough to get us over the line in terms of survival.

The Briscoe try was very well crafted too with Martin and Newman essentially swapping lines to create the space.

Lui and Martin are formulating a good partnership on that side
