Well i started the post, mainly as a bit of a knee jerk reaction to the abysmal performance against Hull Kr. But the main purpose was discussion, what i wanted was improvements and results particularly defense. We are still not improving and defense is still appalling, yes we beat a very poor Huddersfield but nearly blew that, and failed to beat a injury ravaged Wakefield side again mainly due to poor defense. we have failed to win back to back league games this year. Well Hull Kr at Home then Salford away are surly must wind for Furner any less and he is surely facing the axe. Its Ok saying the squad is poor, but he has been given some big signings, bigger than the last couple Leeds coaches got. Good coaches should be able to get the best out of a poor squad and at least get than playing for one and other and showing desire, we are simply not seeing this at all. Look at Salford Ian Watson keeping an average squad well in the mix.
We need improvements and we need results sooner not later.

Well said and agree completely. He has to win the next 2 for me or has to go. I'm not one for calling for a coach to be sacked just for the sake of it as theres a harsh reality behind it but Furner simply isn't getting his players to perform at all. This squad is better than a joint bottom of super league squad. We can't even defend properly for goodness sake.

Shaun Wane anyone? Never been a fan of his coaching style but pretty sure he'd get rid of some of the soft defence and lack of heart. Also has great track record of bringing through youngsters. Needs must.

For me getting rid of Furner now will achieve nothing, just remember people wanted rid of McDermott in his first 6 months.

If Wane comes in i am out , said before we have been playing boring Rugby for the last few years , he would make it worse . Anyone saying our players are better than bottom 2 spot are deluded .

That's because we didnt bring in a proven quality coach to replace him.

The current top two sides in SL didn't bring proven quality coaches in either. What they did was give them some time to bed in.

Steve price was sacked by the dragons in 2014 and Justin Holbrook had never had a head coaches position.

Our last coach wasn't proven either and he did OK.

Now Furner may or not work out but he has as much credentials as a lot of coaches that coach SL teams and do well.

And just to add Hull KR have the coach with the most proven quality and they have been in the bottom half of the league since he took over.

Please let's have knee jerk reactions like football. Let the new team bed in and heal what's obviously going to take time to mend. We are where we are, no point dredging over the reasons why. The club have the full picture and are obviously doing what they Beleive is the correct course of action. If it is to be believed trying to sign Jake Conner and that will not be the end of recruitment.

Oh sorry we are silly. Under the real threat of disastrous relegation...joint bottom of super league. A team with 2 major marquee signings and plenty of international players in it. (Myler Watkins Ferres Singleton Ward). Talented young players.. some solid overseas players..

You’re missing the point, no rhinos fan will be happy with our league position or how the team is performing.

I said before the season started that we as fans will have to be patient this was never a quick turnaround job. The club have said so, sacking Furner 11 games in will achieve nothing, bar the top few sides the table is very close and it’s difficult predicting who will beat who we could end up mid table in a few games time, I still believe we can put a run of performances together.

Careful now, you are in danger of posting something sensible and upsetting all these true fans that want a head on a spike.

I agree, this season is about rebuilding, as will next more than likely.

In all seriousness I do agree it's going to take time but I'm extremely concerned we are in real danger of relegation.

Surely Furner us responsible for the overseas recruitment . Both Lolohea and Merin look overweight unfit and slow. In addition Lolohea can't catch can't pass and can't tackle Three attributes that are reasonably essential in the game. On Monday he dropped a simple up and under without being challenged.( Luckily he got away with it because of an offside player ) passed the ball in to touch 3 times sent an awful pass to his winger that was uncatchable and resulted in Kershaw scoring the first try and was swotted off like a tiny fly by a Leeds reject when any decent fullback would have bundled BJB in to touch. So he effectively gave away 10 points that would have otherwise resulted in a victory for the Rhinos. .. and don't say but he scored at the end because Wakefield knew the hooter was about to blow and let him score .

I’m not sure you can blame Sinfield or Furner for signing Tui, he signed before they did.

Merrin does not look overweight, that is his physique, the two Marquee signings have been our best players.

I do hate this 'if this had happened then we would be X points better off'. The game is full of tiny mistakes here and there. You can't pin point an exact moment a game was won or lost.

It's a full squad game these days.
