I don't think any young player is over hyped. They are compared to their peers and the hype comes because they are at the top of that group. What happens to them next comes down a lot to how they are developed, and then how they respond to that. That doesn't mean they were overhyped when comments are made, as at that time it may be justified.

Unless players get the opportunity to prove themselves, then anybody hyping a player from what they have seen is surely not wrong. By the same token, if at a moment in time the oppossite happens on a player given opportunity to prove themselves, then again, comments are made on that period of time.

Once again the Walker fan boys are out as he looks half decent against canon fodder, easy looking good against 12 man Leigh and perhaps the worse super league side since london broncos in 2014. pretty much saw all his games last season and this, i hope you are right and i am right, that would be the best scenario, believe me i would not take pleasure in being a "told you so" much rather he did become a world beater, i just dont see it. But if i am right and he as been over hyped, the mob will soon turn on him. unfortunately people were saying the same things about Sutcliffe 3-4 years ago and others in the past.

Why does it have to be world beater or nothing? There isn't even people saying that, only you making that assumption. Why can't we just have a damn good player, who is the best at the club in his position, and as the potential to improve further? What is the issue with that?

not really, but i don't like how people attack him without justification, it seems some players cant do wrong and others cant do right, also concerned about some racial abuse that was heard at Cas against Golding and Walters. just because you like one player over another there is no need to attack the player you don't like all the time.

He's about as golden as we had when McGuire, Chev Walker, Watkins, came through the system. Like them, it is how he develops from here on in. The comments around those previous players were the same. Were you poo pooing everyone then for making positive comments on a young player?

All those 3 were streets ahead of Walker, sorry buts its true, chev Walker had already played for England at just 18. this is not about bagging walker and some people are trying to make out it is.

You are bagging him, and you do it simply because you don't like others hyping him. Whether you intend to do that or not, you do it.

They were not streets ahead of him at all in terms of quality to their peers, that is the issue. For his age and his role, Walker is up there in this country as one of the best, at this stage. Just like the three players I mentioned earlier were. The point which I think you might be alluding to his the quality in individual skill was better with those three. That might well be the case, but in terms of quality of the competition and how they rate to that, then Walker is at that sort of level.
