Wouldn't be surprised if Galloway injury is extended to about nine months given the severity of it. Hearing Burrow will be out for around three months, club was expected another long lay off.

Looking at the squad I would say it's between Hall, Ablett and Lilley to drop out given all have knocks. Wouldn't be surprised if all three drop out and Oledzki gets drafted in.

As for the Leeds v Leigh fixture, I didn't get to attend the QF of the CC due to work & really wanted to be at this one (just for the craic) but the date change has scuppered that, bought my ticket & booked a days holiday for Friday 23rd, now left with a useless day off & working Thurs night so can't even watch it live.

I don't watch Flower every week but I've seen Wigan a few times this year and can't say I've seen him do much. If anything he is less of a cheap shot merchant than most of his teammates.
Seemed really odd what he did, totally pointless and could have caused serious injury. Just so obviously not going to get away with it. I think the game should have totally lost patience with late high hits 30 years ago, but still it is not completely clear that hitting someone in the face with an elbow after the ball has gone is intolerable.
I have no particular dislike for the guy but sime sort of large book needs throwing at him. Frankly he wouldn't be missed, he's a dullard lump of beef. Unless he does something like this you would struggle to even notice him.

Agree with that DHM. I don't think he's a regular cheap shot but he obviously has a habit of doing something completely crazy.
I agree on the ban too, I think it's scandalously low, especially given his previous and the fact he was clearly trying to take out the player.

As for the Leigh game, it's such a shame it's been moved as there are obviously lots of people now not able to go.
I think Leigh stand a decent chance given our state this year both confidence and injury-wise, and given how well Leigh have been playing.

I look forward to us playing Leigh next season, I think they'll more than make up for whoever goes down.

How long a ban did he get this time?

He got charged Grade C which carried a 2/3 match ban and he had no EGP. He got a 2 match ban which means IF Wigan get to Old Trafford he could return for that.

Personally very lucky (like most players are per a Cup/GF with regards to a ban).

Whether careless or intentional, you have to have a duty of care to the opposition. Yes we often see a player rough up a kicker after the kick has gone, but to go elbow first towards the throat/chin area is so stupid and inexcusable.

The one thing I admire Rugby Union for is the length of bans they're prepared to hand out. Chris Ashton today got a 13 week ban. Longer punishments would surely not only help eradicate such foul play but make the sport look better by showing it's prepared to act on them.

As for the Leeds/Leigh game, I think Leigh could do us. 4 day turnaround after quite a bit of defending and nothing to play for and beach mode on (no I doubt they're desperate to win some cheap trophy Sky knocked together in Bev Risman's name)

Part one of this new system has been accomplished.....a Chsmpionship won promotion.....the next step, how will they do in SL? Would actually like them to put up a good showing and either make the top 8 or on the edge of making it.

There's a bit of a thing about biting in RU. It's just not done anymore. It used to be very common but it went the way of drink driving. Players hate it. You used to be able to smack someone and get away with it if you could show a bite mark.

Lilley and Ablett have failed fitness tests and will not be playing tomorrow with another U19s player getting called up according to McDermott's interview.

The comment about going in the away end at Saints, it was me that spoke to Brian. We'd lost with a shower of 3 performance, and I asked him what had gone wrong. He couldn't answer my questions but at least was honest enough to tell me so. That's one of the reasons why I respect him, but don't think he's the right coach for us.

Something that should have happened against Batley, instead of having it forced on us through injuries incurred by flogged players. He doesn't develop youngsters, he uses players and nothing more.

Noises coming from Leigh are that we have at least 4 signed & a few more were ready to sign dependant on a Super League place, rumour of at least 1 current NRL player + Ryan Atkins, *hope the one about Kevin Penny is nonsense*.

I believe we have the nucleus of a good SL squad, some quality to add obviously & if we are lucky on the injury front then could possibly cement our place for a few years.

FWIW I think Leeds will bounce back next season & finish top 6/7.

Not sure if this is a tongue in cheek comment but if you are being serious there is no way Leeds fans or surely GH would accept this as bouncing back. We ended up 9th in what was a near all time abysmal showing this year. Top 4 as a bare minimum next season or heads should roll.

Just to add, i think Leigh will do well next season and wouldn't rule out avoiding the middle 8's.
