| Quote ="tvoc"How do you easily assess whether one team had more injuries than another without getting all subjective on the matter? How about using squad numbers as an indicator of full strength ie. a score of 153 would represent squad numbers 1-17 all playing in a given fixture.
I currently have these for Leeds' opening six regular rounds:
Leeds 189 - 210 Warrington
Widnes 203 - 206 Leeds
Les catalans 192 - 234 Leeds
Leeds 239 - 251 Huddersfield
Wigan 231 - 231 Leeds
Leeds 213 - 225 St Helens
Of those only Warrington have won while being further away from their optimum starting number than their opponents.'"
How many of those did Brett Ferres play in - a starting 13 player but with shirt number 26?

| Quote ="Juan Cornetto"Could we have done better - yes. Should be have recruited better - yes. Have we had pre-season disruption to preparation - yes. Have we had senior players badly out of form - yes. Are we suffering from the loss of our two long term leaders on the field - yes. Do we have to be patient - yes. Can we get in the top 8 - yes. Can we win the Cup - Yes. Should fans stop panicking - YES.'"
An excellent summary.
To balance out the massive amount of negativity, it's worth pointing out that there are a few real positives which will come out of all this, not least the fact that we've blooded some really good youngsters, with more to come (the last time we did this was when names like Calderwood, Sinfield, McGuire, Burrow and Jones Buchannan were all relatively unknown).
Personally I'm confident that we'll finish well within the top 8, but I don't care about not winning everything/anything this year. With the loss of Sinfield and Peacock, it was always going to be a year of rebuilding. Unfortunately it's been made all the tougher by the floods, lack of confidence and injuries to pivotal players.

Which facilities have we used all season then? and how do they compare with Wigan's?

It wasnt intended as a year of rebuilding, if it was we would have kept Robbie Ward and tried to up his game time, among others.
On an unrelated point I think we are all seeing that having only one proper 9 in a 25 man squad is costing us.

| Huddersfield look like fielding a much stronger side tonight and in recent matches look to be gaining confidence so a big test for us. Should be a tasty encounter. Good luck to young Smithy

| First half obviously much better in defence, led - have to say - by Galloway.
Sutcliffe has defended well but been an absolute disaster area in attack - if he's not losing himself he's giving Watkins bullet passes or throwing it two feet behind him (Watkins has made a couple of errors on his own bat, but a lot of it's down to that). Anyway hopefully Sutty picks himself up and cracks into gear because Hudds are there to be taken.

| Watkins is struggling but a few have been poor passes from Sutcliffe who apart from his kick has struggled as much and he bombed the try by passing inside to Lilley instead of Watkins.
Discipline was particularly dire first 15 mins from Ferres and JJB, at least the latter sorted his out but think it's nailed on that Ferres will be in the bin 2nd half.
Defence has been full of effort to be fair especially considering the penalties given away to give Hudds good field position. Attack was shocking to start as we couldn't hold the ball but has look OK as the half grew except when it got to Sutcliffe/Watkins....perhaps go the left side a bit more? Burrow again is looking really lively, Golding looked dodgy at first but has improved and the catch on the hooter was brilliant.
If we can be disciplined (which looks like a big if) we can go on to win this. More daft penalties and a 10 minute spell for Ferres in the bin and we'll lose.

| Sutcliffe has totally f*cked watkins. I think theres been 3 knock on from watkins due to sutcliffe's passes, as well as the knock on under no pressure from sutcliffe, as well as not giving watkins a walk in.
He's been totally shocking, but did do the kick for lilley's try so win's a few points back. He's still well in the minus though.

He's managed to keep his arms down so far this week, plus he's carried forward strongly.
Agree with the Sky bods that it's good to see attacking play, but can we stop it with the suicide offloads in the middle of sets?

| Poor old Golding seems to be having a 'mare under Brough's bombs: how many has he dropped?
Lilley the king of interceptions? Pity he doesn't have the pace of Garry Schofied of old

| Well that's that, think that pretty much puts us in the middle 8's. Just not good enough again, really can't see how we can win a game at moment.

| Great effort from lads tonight, thought officials were dreadful tonight Robert hicks should be know where near a super league game, hopefully get some bodies back next week and batter them in cup Huddersfield are a really poor side Imo they struggled against half of out team tonight and next week if some of big guns do come back I expect we will trounce them. MOT!!!!

| no faulting the effort here, and there were some good individual efforts to be fair. But Still no direction, leadership, organisation.all over in defence (good desperate efforts aside) and ruck still a mess. And obviously killing ourselves with penalties.
Apart from that, things are looking up

| I think there was enough in that to suggest that if any of our three key players - Hardaker, McGuire, Cuthbertson - were playing then we would have won quite comfortably. As it was the key play was two Dan Marino passes to break our right side defence.
Ball in hand we were ok until it got to Sutcliffe and then we weren't. Watkins is off form, but I'm not surprised.
Burrow continues his good form. Galloway and Garbutt were the best forwards on the field. Keinhorst excellent again and Lilley neat especially his short kicking game. Don't know who said Cam Smith wasn't physically ready for open age...he's f*cking massive.
