There is a world of difference between receiving a pass like the one Ward gave him and getting the ball from a centre who is drifting sideways and doesn't fix the defence so you get ball and the defender/s at the same time.
I thought it was a very good piece of centre play from Ward. Have to say it was probably the only bit of decent centre play from him. Still unsure why we didn't just put BJB there. I can't imagine Briscoe was tired.'"
Sorry, by no room, I meant no overlap. It was a regulation pass leaving Hall one-on-one. He was one-on-one against an awful winger in Jamie O'Callaghan, and I'd say he'd finish it off 100% of the time against that opposition however the pass from the centre came. It wasn't a criticism of Ward (though he had an otherwise poor game at centre) more another bit of evidence that Hall's hat-trick vs London was a very poor data to use against Moon. |

Maybe it was for balance. As now the trio of Briscoe, Hall and BJB have all spent at least a week on the sidelines. |
