I cant see how gay marriage could make you uncomfortable. I dont see how it affects you.

Im not trying to say that as a criticism, i mean it honestly. I cant see how someone else making a lifelong commitment to anyone else affects you in anyway shape or form. Whether that be straight marriage, gay marriage or any other type of commitment.

after all marriage is just the word for that type of commitment, like vow, pact, promise, pinky swear are other words, for other type of commitment. How can a word which adequately and neutrally describes something make someone uncomfortable?

I said I am not the most articulate.I meant a dew years ago I would have been against it,times are changing and so are my views,and as for the bible did people really live to hundreds and hundreds of years old in those times?I said I Would not sign that petition which means I Am not against gay marriage

I think the OP is giving the vast majority of Christians a bad name. Further to that, I would suggest that most Christians see the bible as what it is - a guide of how to live your life as a good person. I think, the effective conclusionto the bible explains what being a good person actually entails:



In my understanding, the teaching was that one should be nice to all and treat them how they would wish to be treated, which was then backed up with a threat that would fit public fear at that time. If only more people treated eachother like this.

If a gay person had a revelation and said that God has personally told them it was fine to be gay, would this be accepted? Considering most of the bible is based on revelation from god which can't be objectively proved, would Christians not have to accept this?
