Meh. He was never going to make it, and I doubt he'll ever be more than an average player for Hull.

The amount of games Pitts played in the first 17 over his period at Leeds was minimal which means one of two things

a) He didn't show enough in training to merit/force his way into the team?

b) Both Grand Final winning coaches were wrong?

I personally believe answer a) is more than likely as he couldnt force his way past the incumbents holding spots in the back row and was never big enough for the front row.

I think Hull have got a reasonable Super League back rower.....no more, no less.

I think Pitts has shown in his limited game time that he has allround rugby skills but is perhaps lacking in the fire-in-the-belly department. If he can add this to his game he will have a good future.

He definitely deserves a shot at SL, and although he may have been behind the pecking order at Leeds, that's not to say he's not going to make it. As I said a few pages back, he did look pretty useful in the Cas game, certainly better than Clarkson on this year's showings.

According to east hull FC fan on the FC board, Scott Taylor could be at Leeds next season.

With a McDermott, Hallas, Poching and Moana running around in the 15s and 16s, are Leeds trying to conduct some sort of experiment in the genetics of professional rugby league players?

If any of those lads turn out as good as their dads (or granddads) then I for one won't be complaining.

Pitts is like an onion, he has layers. What we have seen is the young, raw talent outer skin that you would expect to see from a player who hasn't been given a chance. Pitts has the inner core of a champion and once Hull have peeled away the skin of inexperience he will blossom into a player similar to that of Gallen. The Rhinos fans are too fickle to see through the little game time he has been given. At hull he will be nurtured into a beautiful onion.

Don't disagree about his lack of given game time especially when you consider the favouritism given to the over ripe melon that usurped him for the starting 17.....maybe if Hull are such a miracle working club they could also take Kirke and do us all a favour.

Kirke is like a banana, looks fine on the outside but once peeled is all battered, bruised and mushy.

Hull will pickle him in the vinegar of disappointment and the parched peppercorns of bitter experience, at which point he'll be a perfect complement to all that fish.
