Hope it not true IMO. Should be given at least another season and is also good utility value'"
Agree about Lee adding good utility but will he be prepared to sit around playing in the U20's??
Unless there are a few long term injuries in the backs you cannot see him getting a regular spot in the 17 next season.
FB: Webb/BJB/Smith/Hardaker
Wing: Hall/BJB/Hardaker/Watkins/Smith
Centre: Watkins/Hardaker/Ablett/Delaney/Senior(if staying on pay as you play)/Smith
I think IF Lee tells Leeds he wants regular 1st team action that we'll release him early to grant him his wish.
Unfortunately for Lee the likes of Watkins/BJB/Hardaker (if all staying fit) are all now in front of him in the pecking order and playing in the reserves most weeks is going to do him no good.

| I'd prefer it if he backed himself, worked hard and aimed to force BM to pick him. Given that Webb is probably only here for one more year (and is also mistake prone at times) I would have thought he'd be likely to get a game or two at full back - unless BJB is the chosen successor. If he leaves because he doesn't think he'll get many games then I'd be disappointed in his attitude.

| Completely agree BR not only that Watkins AND Bjb are prone to injuries so there's bound to be plenty of opportunities for Smithy to get 1st team games and prove his worth.

| I hope that Lee Smith decides to stay at the Rhinos and fight for his spot rather than take that easy option of a starting role each week at his prospective new club
Lee ought to know that the grass isn't always greener out there
IMO He should stand up for himself and fight for his spot, but to do this he will need a good off season's training to enable him to regain all the qualities that he had that made him both a Harry Sunderland winner and an International player
The Lee Smith that left the Rhinos for Bath would be good enough to earn a spot in our side would he not?
Has he still got that hunger and desire in him though?

| I think smithy has it in him. Hopefully he stays and does the above. Would certainly focus my mind watching my mates play and win at old Trafford again, and make me determined to fight for
My spot. Hopefully will have same effect on smith

The move was more to the South East rather than the South West. Lee Smith may well have needed a bath by the time he was rescued from Wasps though.

Personally, without the bad attitude, Todd Carney would be brilliant, rumoured to have signed for Catalans earlier in the year, but now rumoured to be going to the Gold Coast Titans/Cronulla Sharks.
Looks as though the Adam Cuthbertson to Leeds is dieing down a little, could sign a new deal with St George if it is more than one year, if not, could follow Wayne Bennett to Newcastle.

| He's fought back before. He was somewhat out of favour in the middle of 2008, and the rumours doing the rounds on here was that he was being offered to Wigan. He settled down, and got himself back on track superbly. No reason he couldn't do it again

I hope you're right. But a loss of form in 2008, a good 2009 culminating in a departure to Wasps, followed by a rapid return, apparent struggles with fitness and conditioning with no subsequent signs of anything like his previous form suggests to me that there probably are reasons why he can't do it again.

Seen that. But out of interest. Wasn't all 3 of them promoted to first team squad last year? I seem to remember pretty much the same announcement just a bit later on in 2010.

It might have been just fulltime contracts, and training fulltime with the first team. But I just seem to remember something pretty much the same last year.

Sort of correct, but they werent in the top 25 at the club. Stevie Ward was not involved in the announcement due to colllege and was still PT.
And, for people wondering, Stevie Wards contract is a 4 year one.
So far for next season we have 28 players, and they are not ruling out another signing.

| By my reckoning we have 6 players who have left the 25 - Senior, Buderus, Lauitiiti, Cross, Burgess, Amor. Now, assuming that Hardaker will be in the 25 next year, 6 people have taken their places - Hardaker, Hood, Ward, Griffin, Moore, Singleton. For anyone else to come in somebody would have to move out, perhaps in exchange?

I am gonna assume we are gonna go with what we have unless someone special becomes available, looking at ins and outs and new deals etc I would think we still have a fair chunk of cap space available. Would be happy to not spend to cap and go with what we have, only see the point in buying if they are an improvement. No point just spending up for the sake of it
