They were permitted to spend the same as everyone else in SL before this deal, they will be allowed to spend the same as everyone else after this deal.

It's a flat maximum cap these days the same for everyone.

Somehow i don't think they would get away with it.

i'm more then happy to admit my opinion was wrong, but i will add that i think the kid is mental for his choice.

In general, players tend to go over there when younger than when they come over here, and so are less likely to be tied down, and with nippers. The exception being Carney.

Players coming over here with a family, lower chance of getting a game in the NRL and better money than the NRL, are more likely to stay for the length of the contract, than a single player on smaller wages, with no ties, who is guarunteed to get a SL club.

I've never been to Sydney myself but apart from the weather I've heard mixed reports about the place, I don't think it's the guaranteed life changing experience it's cracked up to be.

Ah but not as much NRL game time as Chris Thorman. Does that make Thorman the best British halfback currently playing?

If London was sunny you wouldn't bother going to Sydney.

he's 22, if he's made a good impression over in Australia and plays well at Hull then he has the chance to go back to Australia later on in his carear!

aye, i'm sure poeple will look over the fact he managed 6 months of a 2 year deal before signing elsewhere.

Tansey saying how fantastic it is in Oz and how some of his ex team mates might try their hand over there.

And Sean Long opting to join Hull even though he got a fantastic offer from Wigan.

I doubt that somewhat. Will be viewed as another Pom who couldn't handle the change. Won't be given another shot over there in my opinion.

Richard Agar reckoned Sean Long would be relocating to Hull.

I do feel a tad sorry for Thorman though. He was screwed around at Huddersfield, and with the Tansey and Long signings for Hull he's virtually being told theres not a place for him next season already.

I applaud the lad for going for it, but I do not applaud him for deciding on packing in after 6 months. He'll probably never get that chance again, even if he returned after 2 years then at least he would have given it a full crack.

He's been Sh**e, if I perfomed at work like he has on a rugby field I would have been sacked weeks ago.

He isnt good enough for SL anymore and it was a panic signing for Hull (as we didnt have a SH and there was no else available).

I think he is good enough for SL, if he gets some confidence and is given a prolonged spell at stand-off.
He's got a lot of stick for his defence against Leeds but he wasnt actually that bad when you look at it in depth. After 14 games at a club I'd be pretty p1ssed off at virtually being told to get lost by my coach.
