Unlikely as Soliola is a left centre and Gidley most definitely is a right centre.

A powerful pairing, just unfortunate for the game over here that both are ineligible for England selection.

Leeds are unique in the SL at present by not having an overseas centre on the books. Probably explains why they are deficient in this area.

Excellent signing for St Helens. As I see it ther eare a few possible reasons for this:

1. Leeds followed up their initial interest in him but he chose St Helens over Leeds.
2. Leeds did not follow up their initial interest and they have signed someone else but not announced it yet.
3. Leeds have not signed anyone to fill the problem right centre spot and will go with what we have for next year.
4. Leeds didn't realise Saints were in for him and were hoping to go back to him later this year.

If it's 3 or 4 then someone deserves an ass kicking. I'm looking forward to seeing Greg Inglis in B&A next season.

Steve Matai is out off contract at the end of the 2010 season and would be a great signing if possible but he also is a Left Centre IIRC...

I'd be very happy to see Watkins take over from Senior, and feel we need to bring someone of proven international class in from outside to solve the right centre position because Lee Smith seems more of a winger or fullback to me than I think he ever will be as a centre. He lacks the size and skill in releasing other players to ever be a top centre, IMHO of course.

That's why you and I remain clueless fans and not uber coaches like coach McClennan.

Flannery is a pretty ordinary player. Sort of an Aussie Sinfield without the goalkicking and being more of a tackler than playmaker.
