To be honest I think this is fair enough.

Prior to last years GF, I don't think it was that big a deal to suggest Saints would win it, all the pointers suggested last year would be our year, unlike the year before when you really pushed us in the GF qualifier. Going into hiding was necessary after the GF last year.

I have to say though, it is nigh on impossible to have a genuine debate on this board anymore. Leeds have won the last 2 Grand Finals against the odds (the bookies made Saints favourites for both) but nothing else in between. All I am saying is that in the previous 4 seasons Saints have been the better club side and I stated that this year I expect to Leeds to fully overtake us, finish top and more than likely win the double, certainly if it is a repeat GF I don't think Saints would be favourites for that one. For some unbeknown reason certain Leeds fans are taking this as a slant when it is nothing of the sort. A sense of perspective would be good on here.

Apart from the world club challenge 2005 and 2008.........

As far as I care, the Scousers can win the CC trophy and hubcap from now until eternity, but if they don't win when it REALLY matters in the Grand Final then they are 2nd best.

The Champions are the team that win the Grand Final.
The Champions, are by name, the best team in the competition.
The Champions get to represent Super League against the Champions of the NRL, which incidently, is also the team that wins the NRL Grand Final

You just can't get enough of those meaningless hub caps can you, despite the margin of success been zippo under an irregular fixture format over five seasons.

I have highlighted that Saints have won 50% of the domestic silverware on offer in the past 4 seasons.

The fixture format is out of everyones control, just play what you have.

i assume because the ones who finish top arent the champions of the super league, thats the team who win the grand final.

meaning coming top of the league is not achieving anything other than giving yourselves the best chance of winning the big prize, the grand final.

everyone calls the playoffs 'the business end of the season' and theres a reason for that.

There is no debate though. You randomly turn up on here (presumabley to put us in our place after we win a game) and make a statement that Saints are the best club side in the competition and that all GF results are random one-off's (except when you win them of course). Then you get all p1ssy because we (and all the available facts) inconveniently don't agree with you.
It's the same cobblers over and over again, and every time you get your a*se handed to you and you disapear for a while (to everyone's relief). You are an embarrasment to your own teams supporters who must cringe when they read the rubbish you feel obliged to churn out at regular intervals.
