| Just watched that last run by Hurrell again. How can a man that size be so quick and good on his feet?
Imagine trying to stop him...!

| When you have a runner the size of Hurrell you would think we'd organise ourselves so we try and give him the ball with some space to run into. Instead, we seem to force him into playing like a prop one man rugby.

| Think somebody mentioned on Fri that he should be partnered with Handley as he usually is and I would probably agree with that. Gives us some real strike on one edge then.
Koni is our biggest threat with the ball, needs games now and a linking full back who can provide a passing game to help put him into space.

Most definitely should be with Handley, they were very good as a combo..

I quite like him on the right, but he's totally wasted there with our current half back set up.

| Ast night Was as bad as it gets for Koni. We can't carry him at centre anymore defensively.
His weight has ballooned. But he lost his mum, and we need to have empathy. I would actually play him as interchange 20 min prop when Newman is back.
And if he go's well, keep him there for 2 season contract on reduced terms, but not drastically reduced......

| We all know his weaknesses , but its the coaches job to make the most of his strengths . How many planned moves do we have to bring him onto the ball at pace , or use him as a dummy runner - answer none. Our coach plus assistant are not doing their job .

| Koni isnt blameless. There is nothing to stop Koni going looking for the ball also. I saw none of that Sunday.
You can have all the planned moves you want but when your hooker is one of our 9s, when the half back on that side is Sutty and the 2nd rower outside that is Rhyse Martin the ball aint going out to the centre/wing and if it does it will be that slow the opposition will primed and ready.
I know the point you are making and dont disagree but no coach can make a silk purse out of a sows ear.
We will win games and end up midtable but no Leeds team should accept midtable mediocrity.

| I agree , you would think that after a first half like that , then the player would bust a gut in the second half to try and make up for his errors -
get involved and show some balls - sadly this did not happen.

The last thing we need is Koni busting his gut. It would be very messy.

Yep, he's looked to be nursing an injury since his return and when he chased down a break the other night he was in pain.

Marty, you are reading my comments, are you starting to change your mind. a lot of people on here are amber and blue through and through, i accept that and I will always get shot down when I speak my mind, these last few days more and more people are coming onto this site and saying we simply are not good enough, if anyone says we are they are kidding themselves.
You finish with mid table mediocrity do you think we will get to mid table, at the moment it seems a long way off, all mid table brings is what is called cream of the crap, we stand above the teams who cannot make the top 8. All i want is honesty, someone at Leeds must know what is going on and why are we accepting players from other teams where they want rid. The old mushroom joke rings true, we are kept in the dark and fed a load of shi*e, and some on here accept it. When McDermot was here we tried bringing in sub players and he tried the experiment of making them into top class players, some of these players are still here and are being given new contracts, it beggars belief. We have been able to get two / three/ four quality signings, but put a Rolls Royce engine in a bus and you still have a bus. Kids coming through look good but these kids are being held back by other players who candidly are not good enough. The recruitment policy has to change, no cast offs from other clubs and then making out we have secured a quality player, start bringing the kids through and stop giving under-performing players new contracts. Agar I have been hard on him, previously you spoke about effort, well there is a lot of huff and puff going on but sadly we are lacking a lot of quality in the team and this is reflected in the overall performance. Sadly its not a good time to be a Leeds supporter, getting top quality players into the team is hard, its harder still to get rid of sub players who are on contract.

| Brodie im not sure ive changed my opinion too much ive never been a big fan of several players, ive criticised the contract extensions of certain players and ive always mocked and cajoled posters who thought we could rival Saints and Wigan. I was told i was being negative when I said Eastmond was a gamble.
We are where we are. Injuries have impacted this year for sure but ultimately the team isnt good enough.

| I can live with a small amount of dropped ball and the odd nightmare game, but his overall performances need to be a lot better and more consistent. He's not looking like a marquee centre at the moment - way off in fact. This needs to change if his contract is to be renewed, but I think he should be given some lattitude/opportunity in the coming weeks if the attitude is there in training.
Looking at the centres, if Newman is able to come back in and continue where he left things (a big IF, and he needs time, we don't want another Watkins happening), one of the starting positions is nailed down. As things stand I don't think either Sutcliffe or Hurrell are top 4 quality players in this position, although they haven't had much chance yet this season. I'd rather give Broadbent a go at this point than try Briscoe there, however.

If Handley is out again I think we’ll see Broadbent in the Centres again, Im looking forward to seeing him in his natural position.
Newman will take a while to get back up to speed and we shouldn’t expect too much of him on his return
As for Hurrell i am a fan but his performances on his return have been terrible, the thing is all players are different we see some players whi want a deal up their performances but some players the uncertainty affects their performances and they can be trying too hard, unfortunately Hurrell appears to be in the latter category

You're talking about the Bailey Principle Chris. He'd spend most of his contract going through the motions, then turn it on in his last year and get an extension. Maybe he should be Konrad's advisor

Koni has given 10x more to this club than some players not getting any stick. Just don't think centre is good for him anymore....
