| Quote ="thebloodbath"As I aluded to earlier, that stats back it up - great pack leading by Ryan Bailey.
And some fools were suggesting, our longest serving prop, wouldn't make our first choice 17.
'"
Good stint that, 41 tackles and no misses is excellent - respect. Same goes for Sinfield.
Interesting how stats were irrelevant last year whenever they reflected poorly on our Ryan, now they're proof of performance . . .
Perhaps he's upped his workload this year, look forward to seeing him in action myself (didn't see the Crusaders match)

Here we go again!!
Didn't you claim he wouldn't hold his place in the first choice 17 also?? Correct me if I'm wrong??
Long way to go. But as it stands - kiss my ring.

Just as a footnote, Friday was the first time Leeds have lost a home match after leading at half time under coach McClennan.
The last time that happened was 38 (home) fixtures ago V Wakefield (20th July 2007) under Tony Smith.'"
That is interesting, do you how many we did go on to win when losing at half time at home and therefore also lose?

Sorry, you said it was the first time we had lost at home under Bluey, when we were leading at the half time break. So therefore I assume we have also gone on to win games at home, under Bluey, when losing at half time as well, how many times? Also, if we are losing at half-time and don't go on to win (which is rare at home I suspect) how many time as that happened, if any?
The original question sounded fine in my head but reading it back it is not very clear... sorry!

Not really - I'm giving him credit! My concern with him has always been he doesn't muck in enough. Those stats suggest he did at the weekend so fair play. For much of last year they suggested he didn't.

Don't back track now - you as well as others write him off publicly so I have the right to reply on his behalf!!
Later in the season if he continues in the same form (which I think he will) I will give you and the others on my list an open opportunity to publicly apologise for your mis-findings and general lack of respect to the big guy.
I will be in touch.
By the way, what's the story with Flannery?

Hmm, interesting. Under Bluey, so far, we are better at turning games around if we are losing at half-time but only just, but he also only has to lose another two games if we are losing at half-time to catch up with Smith 7 to his 5. Both very good records either way!

I'd be quite happy for everyone to peak at the end of the season. As that is when it ultimately counts.
I think you can do slightly better than 'good'.
Huge tackle count, no misses, a few sizeable drives and displayed the work ethic of a Polish factory worker on double time.
He lead the pack. He was organising and directing defensive lines.
Keep an out for me. I'll be the good looking guy holding the sign 'Told You So'.

He did ok in a relatively very poor performance by Leeds. I wouldn't highlight your last sentence as a particularly great success.

Not too often he has them these days, only one I can remember last season is at Odsal.

He ran better than ok.
If anything his individual performance should be valued with greater awe as he performed when others didn't. He did his bit. He lead by example. If the rest played to his standard you wouldn't have scored a point and we would have won. Fact.

| Are those stats for your forwards correct? In terms of effort in defense they are good. It would be interesting to see what sort of percentage of those tackles Bailey made were where he was the lead tackler. But there seems to be a distinct lack of effort in attack. The carries are spread around everywhere and Bailey just doesn't do enough work with the ball. The stars in your pack are Peacock and Jones Buchanan. The later for me has been fantastic for you. I'd like to see how Leeds would fare without those two for a month or two.
The England backrow for the end of the season must be JJB's target. A back three of Ellis, JJB and Harrison would look good to me.

There was no lack of effort in attack mate we didn't have the ball long enough in the 2nd half to try and attack.
Add to that other than kicking off after Cas scored and conceding penalties we didn't get out of our own half in the last 20 minutes.

Where the stats originate from was explained further up the thread. I use what Opta report on the SL website and cross check the combined player totals to the team total. I then try not to make any mistakes when transfering the data on to here.
How accurate they are is pretty much down to Opta, how relevant they are is pretty much down to each fan's interpretation and/or agenda.

Sinfield - club loose forward - International hooker. I think you may be overplaying Sinfield's non selection in the English back row.

If Sad would clarify who he would therefore select at No.9 (or where he would select Sinfield) then I will happily retract my comment... just possibly misreading between the lines of his post? Sad?

| So, let me get this right.
When we win, Bailey is judged to be a lazy, untalented so-and-so.
When we lose, he's had an awesome game.
OK, it's obvious then ... someone tell McClennan to have a word with Ryan to slacken off a bit.
