I've no real wish to join your discussion with tinyrod and have no opinion either way but the Goldthorpe Medal is a complete irrelevance. The winners have usually been the dominant players in average teams. A Leeds player will never win it because we have too many good players.

He won it over the course of the season for consistent performances and imo he's been the best 7.
Certainly better than long and was a key part in rovers been in the top 4 this season and whilst he wasn't great tonight whilst injured or behind a battered pack last week he still deserves recognition for his form this year.

With or without it he has been the best 7 this year in the league i recognise the award as been recognition for his form and consistency in playing a key role in rovers rise to the top 4.

He's been consistent and argubaly the form 7 (though he has certainly bombed out in the playoffs) but the Goldthorpe thing is no recomendation. If 1 player stands out in a so so team they will win that award.

There is no such printed list from the RFL.

A journalist in a tat weekly RL magazine once printed on for his own entertainment and some clueless muppets on here thought that it was somehow "official", having said that some people actually buy newspapers too so there's no accounting for the scale of muppetry around these days.

A serial muppet on here actually sent an email to the RFL in the season when we finished first but lost the GF, asking for confirmation that Leeds had in fact finished second in their imaginary revised league table, and they even got a reply, it went something along the lines "Er, yes, if such a table existed then it would be along those lines, but that would be clearly ridiculous" - didn't stop said muppet from claiming that he was correct though, there is no accounting for brains of cotton wool.
