Where is the logical thinking in taking Cas and Leeds fans across the M62 on a Friday evening to watch this game?
If Saints had qualified then a neutral venue would have been required so this decision hasn't been long in the pipe line.
If the RFL want the womens' game to grow then surely a more local and convenient neutral venue would be better to increase the attendance figures.
Surely a location like Featherstone would generate a larger attendance?

The game was scheduled at Headingley the Sunday and was moved to St. Helens to the Friday due to availability and England teams going out on the Saturday. I do understand the logistics with how much it affects both teams from Yorkshire it’s just unfortunate that it is two from Yorkshire yet again.

It's ridiculous, Featherstone would have been perfect for this game on a Friday night, I would have probably ventured out to watch it but asking Was and Leeds fans to go over to Saint Helens on a Friday night is just utter lunacy.

Even belle Vue at wakey would have been a good call. Talk about trying to promote the women's game it's just ludicrous expecting people to go to saints on a Friday night.

The venue was finalised ages ago, like it should have been for a final like this, with tickets on sale for months.
It's unfortunate that it's ended up two Yorkshire teams but that's the way it goes sometimes.

really? in the playoffs teams sometimes have a weeks notice to get the game on. have 2 weeks between the semi and final and choose a venue after the semi finals. it's not rocket science

Could have combined this together and had him presenting the trophy, but they don’t really think like that.

I will be honest and say im fed up of hearing about the womens team. Im sorry if people dont agree but its how i feel.

Im glad they are playing and the standard has really risen but i would be happier if they had their own website and twitter feed.

Said in commentary that Cuthbertson is going on tour with the England women's team as assistant coach. Not sure how that will impact on his pre-season?

Fantastic result for Leeds there, Cas have some good players.

I’m all for the development of the women’s game, it’s brilliant for girls to have more sporting opportunities and there are very few sports which have the kind of team ethos that RL does.

Give it a few more years and the quality will go up even more - hopefully some sponsors will take an interest.

Congrats to the women. Dreadful performance from the ref tho.

Totally agree and it just shows that RL at any level is a great sport and I don’t mean that to sound condescending as the skill level was high in this game.

It’s also really good that younger women can have these players as inspiration and role models, I hope the women’s game goes from strength to strengthe

Best kicking game in the club.

Thoroughly enjoyed the game and great atmosphere. Feel it would have been a huge attendance in Yorkshire but St. Helens made the occasion as much as they could.

Great performance from the ladies, I have to say Courtney Hill has one of the best kicking games I’ve seen in a while, the club could learn with her if they got her involved. Caitlin Beevers superb at full back. Fran Goldthorp and Ellie Oldroyd took everything thrown at them and at a such young age, they are going to go very far in this game.

The best side won the game by the end of it but Castleford will learn from this as they have the talent. Gentles is top class a very strong runner. I didn’t expect that performance from the ladies at all after the first five minutes. That’s 6 in 6 in sudden death games for the men’s and women vs Castleford.

Beevers is a cracking player. Only 18/19 and made of matchsticks but she can’t half run. Absolutely fearless too.

There are some genuine characters in the team too.

Great game massive well done they've shown the men up this year massively.

Courtney hill had a better kicking n the men could learn a thing of two of her.
