| It would be very difficult because everyone will play almost everyone else. You'd expect the current top 5 to win at least half their remaining games meaning they'd end up with 28 or 30 points minimum. We'd have to win 7 or 8 out of 9 to catch them.

| It’s a crazy season this year isn’t it?
Salford looked poor tonight, lose and remain on 18 points. That’s only 2 wins ahead of the chasing pack and suddenly you wonder if they are safe.
I don’t think we will make the 5 this year but we should start playing more like a top 5 side regardless to carry some hope and improvement into the off season.
On paper the squad is quite improved from this time last year.

| We have now won 4 out of our last 6 games and more importantly started defending well.
If we can win 6 of our next 8 games I think it will be enough to make 5th place.
Playing Saints the week before the Cup Final could be handy if they rest several players.

| I think if we do make the top 5 there's a risk we think the current squad have gelled and the revamp stalls - I'd happily take 6th to 11th and a continuation of the exit of the dross.

| It’s not mutually exclusive. If we do make the 5 I’d still like to think certain players cards are marked and we have a few more signings lined up. We’re clearly still some way behind the competition’s benchmark side.
Having said that, stranger things have happened and Saints aren’t invincible in a one-off game.

Already looking forward to it. So many ex Leeds connections there, they’ll bust a gut to stick it to us.
We need to play a bit smarter than tonight.

| That Hull KR match will be a tough game.
We need to put a massive effort into it.
Looking at the fixtures we play Hull fc at home a week before their cup semi and presuming Saints beat fax we play Saints at home a week before the final.
I think the top 5 is probably unachievable but the fixtures are definitely in our favour now.
Our defense looks good, if we can improve our attack then we will give ourselves a chance.

There is almost nothing between the teams battling relegation and the teams fighting for a playoff spot this year.
A win against Hull kr on Friday will see us leave the relegation battle and join the race for the playoffs.

| Don't want to put a downer on the great win last night but let's not get carried away, one game at a time. Looking back a week or two we were all ready to accept safety and I haven't changed on this view. KR next week and the way this league has played anyone can beat anyone, possibly with the exception of stains and dire

Agree. If we cop a key injury or two we could be back in the mix again too.
Never known a season like this to be fair, in terms of how equal/ equally inconsistent the lower sides are.
What I will say is that we’ll be safe if we can keep the attitude of the last two or three weeks, our squad is now better than relegation.

| It would be very interesting to see how it pans out. Wigan were in the more with us, and have put a real run together. They're an outside bet for a run in the playoffs

| May be adding 2 and 2 and making 5 here, but the team spirit seems extremely high just after we've got rid of a couple of supposed "bad eggs".
Attitude is such an important aspect of this game and I honestly don't think KS will stand for a bad one, and rightly so.

Yep, I was wondering about that. So who exactly are we talking about?
Lolohea - gives the impression of being a bad trainer, rumoured bad attitude off-field. Probably on relatively big money. Something between him and Singleton (not been a huge fan of his this season, but probably a popular player in the squad?).
Parcell - must have been unhappy being displaced by Dwyer and with his mate Garbutt leaving.
Watkins - perhaps unfairly carrying too much expectation coming back from injury, with the captaincy etc. Can't have been happy with his treatment towards the end. While his efforts on the field were unquestionable, could he have been part of a negative culture off-field?

| To be fair we started showing a bit of spirit at Wakey and Watkins, Lolohea and Parcell was still Leeds players.
In fact I think one of these "bad eggs" scored a 70m try and another "bad egg" made 50 tackles in the win.

Wouldn't it be fun though if we did do the unthinkable? Remember 2011 and 2012 winning from 5th and they all had the cheek to call us whinos

| Catalans, Wigan or Hull is a bit of a stretch for but we only need 1 of the 3 to go on a bad losing run to catch them. Salford, Wakey and Cas are now looking very close, we just need to get ahead of those and 1 other.
Salford 2 points ahead
Wakey 2 points ahead
Cas 4 points ahead
Catalans 6 points ahead
Wigan 6 points ahead
Hull 8 points ahead

It would be - I'd never turn down number nine in the trophy room, and particularly if it was us and the pies in the final .
I was thinking more of 2017 though - we had some new bodies in after losing Sinny, JP and Kylie in 2015 but didn't really follow it through. We got to 2017 and possibly as we picked up (very) well mid-season we didn't recruit further even though we knew we were losing Mags and Robbie Burrow, and as a consequence we are where we are. It would be boring if we won every year though...
