Should the new Southstand have a statue of Brian McDermott, Kevin Sinfield and Danny McGuire?

Let's get the John Holmes one made and paid for first.

Doesn't have to be a statue. But these players need something. Stands, statues, bars, suites. Rename the whole en stadium after them all.

John Holmes brother Phil has posted recently on johns FB page and elsewhere that the statue is well on the way and it will be situated behind the new south stand .

You need to add JJB to those who are commemorated.

I think the club mentioned a physical Hall of fame would be included in the new stand ,I think this would be a museum also ,but if this run of success continues much longer it will be more than the golden generation ,or a new golden generation

So who would be the 1st 3 in the Ryan of fame

Add in Burrow from the leftover bronze. Wouldn't take much.

Including Ryan Bailey too?

I often think JJB gets overlooked in these types of threads.Sinfield,Burrow and McGuire often take the glory of the last 15 years but JJB has been a corner stone of the pack for all that time and still doing the business.is he going around again next year? Last man standing

Apparently Leeds are planning a statue of Falloon, Kirke and Achurch outside the entrances to the new South Stand toilets.

Kirke is a multi grand final winner

Always said that the John Holmes statue should have been situated near the club shop walking into the north and Carnegie Stand. Then a golden generation statue of McGuire, Burrow, JJB, Sinfield, Peacock should be made (like the Wembley CC one) at the South Stand.

Ryan's is going behind one of the away turnstiles on Kirkstall Lane, blocking one of them and were going to move it to a different one every home game, just so you can never be sure when your going to run into him.

Phil Holmes said that it would be behind the south stand and looking toward Burley where he was born and grew up so I would think this is at the request of Johns family

Does Lewis Jones deserve a statue or at the very least some sort of recognition?
We need a " Leeds Hall of Fame" to recognise all the greats who have graced our team over its entire existence.

As per the Kieron Cunningham one at Saints, you should never get one for anyone currently associated with club!

the Club has started a Hall of fame and the first four inductee's were John Holmes , Keith McLlellan ,Lewis Jones and David Ward . There is the Lewis Jones Suite in the Carnegie Stand and the club has stated there will be a physical Hall of fame built into the new development whish I'm sure will also be the club museum .

There was a small Hall Of Fame, and lots and lots of lovely photos of past players and teams in the supporters club. Perhaps all of that will see the light of day again when the new South Stand is completed.

I hope it does and it certainly should imo. Not enough is done in British RL as a whole on the heritage and history front. RL did exist more than 20 years ago and we have a proud history (aside from this great SL era) that should be celebrated in any way possible.

I posted earlier that the club stated on the first Hall of Fame induction night a few months ago that a real physical Hall of Fame will be part of the new development the criteria for induction is 150 apps and to have played a representative game .it wont be pictures on walls it will be plaques of the players telling their story

Got a way we can honour Sinfield with no cost and no time wasted, the North Stand should be renamed the Sinfield Stand (far better honour than a statue imo)

As for a golden generation statue, I think it would be too expensive, too big, and most importantly, it is so hard to find a cut off point for people to be in it, for example if you put in Peacock and JJB then why not Ablett, and if he is in then why not Hall or Ali or Senior...

Anyone heard of Bruce Ryan, an Aussie winger who played for you in 1950-52? He was transferred from Hull for a then world record fee.

As a kid he was my favourite Hull player( arrived in 1947) and I wept buckets when he left us. Leeds players I can remember at the time were Arthur Clues and Bert Cook, a NZ fullback.

Bruce Ryan is not listed in all time lists of players that have ever played for you. No idea why. He scored tries around 20/season for both clubs.

hello ,yes I never saw Ryan play ,but heard about him from older fans ,Clues and Cook I never saw them either ,but they were both well known in the city long after they finished .Thanks for your post
