| What odds will any bookie give me on a football style score of 0 - 0?
Both teams appear to want fourth place, enabling them to visit the virginal league leaders who will fold in the playoffs once more. Good job there is no equivalent to an own goal in rugby. Sky will talk the game up, winners finish third. Warrington away or Shuddersfield away. Lets go to the John Smiths Stadium, outnumber the home fans and put the Giants to the sword. Home tie in the GF qualifier against Wigan.

Aye, 5 wins from 6, and 8 from the last 11 (including injury hit defeats away to the top 2, plus by only 1 & 4 points vs Wire and KR) and scoring two late tries last night to sneak the win......really trying to avoid 3rd at all cost.
Because we wouldn't want to play Wire again in the playoffs after the last 2 years.

| The more you take into account the merits of the other three the more they look like much of a muchness. Each has there strengths, Wire and Wigan how they blow teams away in the opening 20-30 minutes, Hudders with their overall organisation and half-back pairing and then us with all of our grand final experience and the appearance of being able to up our game in the most critical moments. There's no easy team to draw of them and you could argue that losing the first game gives you the opportunity to build momentum to the final, which is what finishing fifth has allowed us to do in the previous two years.

| Leeds should go out to win and finish as high as they can. That's all they can do. Finish 4th and hudds may end up tearing it up in the playoffs.
A tough hard fought win at wigan will be a big boost going into the playoffs. Win there then players, fans and the club collectively will feel like the strut is back for the playoffs, the players will all grow an inch.
Of course grand scheme of things, a win probably means little, but a win never does any harm.
What do people rate to our form over the past few months?

| Well,i have been one person saying i would prefer to go to hudds. in the first round but in all honesty am not all that bothered right now and am of the belief we should certainly go all out for the win at wigan and get some real momentum going.we can beat all three above us if we play to our full potential and going to wire should certainly hold no fears for us.

| I would LOVE to win, and finish 3rd. I'm sick of the trolling nonsense about how we are purposely rubbish throughout the season to finish low. If you're scared of Warrington in the playoffs, then you have a very short memory. We will go out to win on Thursday, and then I hope we make it all the way to Old Trafford as well. Though I'm sure then 'It's so easy to win from 3rd' will happen.

Now that Leeds' home regular season has finished perhaps you could tell us the average attendance total compared to last year? Surely it must've taken a massive drop seen as Leeds are the poster team for treating the regular season so meaninglessly.

Nah, I just like to toy with him. He'll be wounded that he can't spend the next 12 months on here mentioning lower crowds at Headingley (demise of SL, mediocrity being punished etc.) or starting a huge thread about it.

| Hello (long reader first time poster here).
Would a win give us the possibility of making the club call if we then beat Warrington and Wigan beat Huddersfield?
Also wouldn't a win against Warrington prevent Huddersfield from choosing us in the club call if they were to beat Wigan?
The former is reason not to win the latter is an incentive to win IMHO.
Either way they won't be pulling out any special moves till the week after me- thinks.

Agreed - I really can't see Leeds, Wigan or Wire getting out of second gear next week. Hudds really want the hubcap so they'll sill be playing to win, but the rest of the top three will be coasting IMO.
The missus and I be going to Wigan next week but in all honesty I don't think it'll be a classic - more like a training game.

| Fight for 3rd imo, would rather take on a team we have had the measure of this year than a team who have caned us 3 times. Of course it's all irrelevant given we cant finish 5th, which (so we're told by our resident expert) is the best position for gf glory. Might get a few quid on Saints......

Hull vs Saints
Catalans vs probably 2nd string Warrington
Hull KR vs Widnes (h) London (a)
If all those go against Saints way (which is entirely possible given that Wire will probably rest key players as they're away in France 2 days later than their 1st week playoff opponents Wigan or Leeds play) then they'll finish 8th.

| Interesting that the majority of your fans see playing hudds as the easy option when you ve won one narrowly lost one against Wire and lost convincingly three times to us.
Maybe that's why we have done well and seeing us as the easy option could well work very well !!!!! For us !!
I think Wigan have peaked too early hence all the resting which sometimes causes more than it does good.
Apart from a bad day against Bradford we have only lost against Wire at home up to today so I hope everyone wants to come to the JS as its the easy place to go !!!
Oh I like the superman/man of steel shirt and sponsorship fair play and well done to both parties on some smart marketing and good publicity !!!

Four SL clubs have completed their home Regular Round seasons now and the comparative attendances are these:
Leeds - 2012 ..... 14,948 to 2013 ..... 15,197 ( =#0000BF2% increase)
London - 2012 ..... 2,808 to 2013 ..... 2,213 ( =#FF000021% decrease)
St Helens - 2012 ..... 14,222 to 2013 ..... 11,345 ( =#FF000020% decrease)
Warrington - 2012 ..... 11,435 to 2013 ..... 10,633 ( =#FF00007% decrease)
How many of the remaining ten clubs will be able to buck the trend?
Not all were able to sell season tickets from the position of being current Champions.

| I can remember the days when only Wigan averaged five figure crowds and the days when it was only us and Wigan. Those days were pre super league and during winter rugby.
A decrease in attendances is not great, granted, but before William arrives on the scene I thought it pertinent to recall that fact.

Huddersfield do seem to have it over leeds at the moment, that being said I don't think leeds will fear anybody in the play offs. The big worry is that we may struggle getting players back to fitness, during intense games.

When will huddersfield stop rabbiting on about regular season results.
This is why you are clueless, you think playoff games will play out exactly as they did during the regular season.

Not all teams had been as 'mediocre' during the last 2 regular seasons and had fans saying "we'll just pick and choose our games like the team does".

| I agree that some have dismissed Hudds too much regarding the playoffs. I think they've already done enough this year to say the 2013 version is much different to previous years.
If they can avoid Warrington in the Playoffs I wouldn't rule them out.

| The Wigan game is most important. We should try to get some form and momentum and the only way to do this is by picking our best players, if fit, and going all out for a win. I guess each of the other sides will be doing the same. I would prefer a 3rd place finish too and don't believe Huddersfield are easier than Warrington.
The benefits of a good win will be enormous to the confidence in our camp and will start the negative forebodings in all the other contenders dressing rooms.
