Monday sees the Round 4 clash between the Rhinos and the Viking take place at Headingley. It was originally postponed because the World Club Challenge played between Leeds and Melbourne was scheduled in for that weekend back in February.

Ill be very interested to see which approach Leeds take to this game as they have 5 players in the England Squad and 3 in the Exiles squad for the game that is being played 71 hours 45 minutes earlier. This happened a couple of years ago and Leeds played pretty much a team of kids against Castleford and won. I dont expect that this time and expect all the backs to "back up" and Kylie to come off the bench with maybe Delaney getting a Monday night off.

Until the squads are announced and the Exiles game has been played I couldnt even hazard a guess at how this game might go though, so I wont

It surely would be safe to assume he won't play Monday and will get a rest - he's earned it!

I heard that JJB got quite a bad knock on his knee against cas and probably won't feature this weekend. Also heard kylie had a lesser knock and 70% should be ok to play

With Sutcliffe, Minns, Singleton and Keinhorst already likely to feature, I think you are perhaps being a little bit optimistic. That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing those two either.

At least we still have to go to Salford - we could play JJB's 4 boys and still beat that lot.

If Delaney is deemed unfit to play for the Exiles, I'm pretty sure there is an RFL rule that prevents him turning out for Leeds 48 hours later. Likewise Leuluai.

Could be a case of last 17 standing get a game.

I think you see similar things in football with players withdrawn from Internationals only to play for their club a few days later. If the coaching team can provide medical evidence that he's not quite right to play in the Exiles game then shouldn't be no problem (I doubt the RFL will be that strict anyways, certainly not with Exiles players, its part of the reason only a certain amount of players from 1 club are picked, not to put too much of a strain on them).

If he's fit for Monday, which is over 48 hours later so completely possible with a minor knee knock then he'll be ok to be picked for Leeds.

Just gone back and had a read of the Operational Rules, and it explicitly states that a player withdrawn by the team doctor of a representative side can play for his club during the period that he would have otherwise been away on representative duty.

So even if Leeds were playing Sunday, if the Exiles doctor deemed Delaney and Leuluai unfit they would still be allowed to play for Leeds that weekend.

Ludicrous IMO, no wonder nobody gives a monkeys about the international game any more.
