| The best referee should get the biggest games, i would not have any qualms whatsoever to see Ganson ref future games between the Rhinos and the Saints
I would also like to see the other refs improve their performances and consistency to challenge Ganson for the big games

| Just wish he'd make a decision on his own, if he had awarded the last try you could have forgiven human error, but the VR had plenty of opportuniy to see it was offside. The VR is making refs lazy.
Glad you won though, best team alround in 2009.

| I think last night Leeds demonstrated that they had learnt how to "deal" with Steve Ganson.
Think back to the game at Belle Vue, we gave Steve Ganson exactly what he wanted - attention. The amount of back-chatting and petty penalties in that game was cringeworthy and in those situations, Steve Ganson is in his element.
Last night, it was spot on. Leeds practcally ignored the fact that Ganson was there. It was a very disciplined performance which meant that (aside from a few whistles), Ganson had absolutely nothing to do from a Leeds perspective.
We all knew after that Wakefield game that the message had to get through. Thankfully, it did.

It think it’s combination of a couple of elements:
1. Leeds have really tightened their discipline problem
2. Ganson has a different reffing style for finals – he tends to let a lot of the petty stuff slip that he would normally put lips to whistle for in a normal league game.
Anyway - off to the Homecoming - bye.

| I'd like to complement both teams on their discipline. There were only a few penalties because both teams tried to obey the laws.

| Thought ganson couldn't get the whistle in his mouth quick enough at times yesterday! Should have put Cunningham in the bin no questions asked. if saints fans think they get a rough deal from the saint then they are kidding themselves! he can't help himself! but I've seen him have worse games!

Rubbish.
He interefered at the PTB, that's all. It was never a sin-binning offence.
Just watching the BBC highlights show, I thought Ganson's only errors were the penalty against Senior (there was nothing there to penalise), and the high tackle against Burrow (never a high tackle).
And his biggest error, IMO, was saving Saints from getting a smacking at the end of the game. James Graham had thrown his dummy out and wanted a fight. Ganson got hold of the situation completely and stopped them getting battered. From the PC, idiot brigade that was brilliant refereeing. From a RL supporter it was awful because Graham, Wilkin, Gilmour et al from getting tvvated.

Not sure. It was a leeds penalty, and the ball ended up in touch, followed by Ganson calling time. If Sinny tapped it and then kicked it, then game over. If he kicked it straight out, then it should have been another PTB.
It doesn't really matter, but I think Sinny tapped it and kicked to end it.
Leeds fans were too busy cxelebrating by then anyway

Yes, IMO. But I think Ganson stopped the game when Bailey ran in on Graham because right at that moment it was on. Ganson blew up at that point and the sting was taken out of the situation. Then he blew up early so that no more plays were taken and the game finished 4 or 5 seconds short.
In some respects it was fantastic reffing.
In the respect that I wanted to see all the Saints players getting tvvated, it was a shameful abuse of reffing power. He blew up and stopped the game when there was no offence. He finished the game early so there'd be no violence. A disgusting abuse of power. Get him out!

Graham was clearly offside, he had to give it.
There was a certain symmetery (sp?) between the first and last minute decisions.

| NRL final last week, out of 7 tries just 1 referal to video ref, both touch judges were consulted by the ref, video a last resort. Ganson can't cope without it. RFL should save money a do away with touch judges.

Which VR decisions do you think Ganson shouldn't have referred?

To be fair they were decisions that needed the vid ref. Maybe Lee Smith's first after Meli lost it could have been given straight away but you can't complain really.

I was a blantant attempt to slow down, infringe and spoil play in a try scoring position! it's a profesionl foul, It should be a binning every time. I've seen plenty go for identical plays.

| After a dodgy start he wasnt too bad . he missed a few Saints forward passes. Missed the knock on just prior to Wilkins kick out on the full . I also thought that when Hall offloaded as he was going in touch there was an offside from sts that he missed. Hall passed the ball back one saint touche it in flight and another pushed it backwards from an offside position should have been a pen to leeds. He also penalised keith for 'jumping' (since when was that an offence- one that we have been penalised twice for this year) and the high tackle call agaisnt rob was harsh. Some of those are down to human error some down to his own weird rule making. Most of the game I didnt notice him though which is exactly as it should be.

| No doubt about it that ganson is best ref in super league.
He was always going to be fair because he wouldn't risk missing out on another Leeds v saints final.
I thought he had pretty good game to be honest.

The Senior decision was spot on. He also missed a blatant flop on Webb late in the first half (and missed a similar one Sky bleated about where Leeds were the offenders later on).
However, I'm sure he missed a few offences against Saints too rather than your one sided list.
Overall I thought he did well.
