I hope Senior appeals (but there's a risk of worse if he does and fails) but he does appear to have been victimised by the panel.

Failing that I'd also like to see Watkins given a full game in his preferred position.

I agree that it is a little harsh, given he has not appeared since 2000, but it does look like the panel have given him th ban for carrying on with the verbals rather than the punch and he should have known better!

Do you think it's fair that because Senior is a "high profile player" playing in a "high profile game" he should be given a stricter punishment than a "normal" player? Because that seems to be what the disciplinary have done.

The judgement that you reproduced earlier indicated that the ban was in part imposed because Keith Senior is a high profile player whose actions came in a high profile game. That would imply, if it had been a lesser known player in a lower profile game the outcome may have been different. The committee's standards should be applied fairly and equally across all the cases they deal with, not prejudiced by the stature of the individuals concerned.

In that sense Senior has been victimised by the panel.

Arghh, Ok, see your point and as such it would indeed be hard to disagree. My own interpretation of these comments was it was more to do with the fact he did really go off on one and that maybe if he hadn't then he would have been ok.

I think either way, we both agree it was harsh... but probably worth taking given the next game and the slight risk of the ban been up'ed in appeal.

I can't see Senior giving up a week's pay or a potential win bonus without a fight especially as he's probably copped a double fine adding the RFL to Leeds' internal one for the sin-binning.
