People seen the squad for Sunday?
Missing Peacock, Kirke, McGuire, and Hall. We have suplemented our squad with Watkins, Ratu, and Ben Jones Bishop, with of course Burrow back.
So long the argument has been lack of centre, and here we are with 5 in a 19 man squad. Where is our forwards?
How Danny Allen can not make that squad I will never know. And where is rhinoms great hope of Manning?

Kirke (2nd rower) injured is replaced by JJB in the squad (massive improvement).
McGuire is replaced by Burrow in the squad (like for like)
Peacock is not replaced like for like but his work rate is irreplaceable anyway.
Hall is replaced by young threequarters Ratu, BJB and Watkins.
What's your point?

We are already weak weak weak in the forwards. I agree on your JJB for Kirke comment. But we are already weak weak weak.
Our best forward is out, and another is playing stand off. What do we do, we bring in 2 centres and fullback/winger.
If ever there was a game where you were going to use people like, Allen, Ambler, Manning, this is it.
If you can't see the point it's not my problem. You can continue debating that everything is rosy and we have the players to compete.

| Surely having a forward playing stand-off increases the physicality of our team?
That said I agree with DISA's concern over the forwards. Hopefully with Peacock missing the rest of the pack will step up and put in more effort, I'm just not sure they are capable of it after seeing the stats from recent performances.

Ask the coach!!
So by your reckoning manning isn't good enough??????
With the coach planning on using senior in the 2nd row along with jjb, ali, disko(when he and buderus are on at the same time) and ablett at 13 how many back-rowers do you want??????
Whilst i agree we look light with the absentees that doesn't mean the squad selected isn't good enough to get the job done nor does it deem manning not good enough.

Why would the coach be contemplating using a centre (the only tried and tested one Leeds have) in the back row if he had confidence in the squad?

Will be really interesting to see the workrate of KL and RB this weekend - if they realise they need to step up and then carry on in that vein for the rest of the year - it could actually be the making of your season IMO.
The absence of Peacock could highlight just how much work they [ishould[/i be doing themselves rather than hiding behind his mighty workrate.

Puletua has played 2 less games and made 50% more metres than KL
www.superleague.co.uk/statistics ... eason=2009
He's played one more game than Bailey but made twice as many metres
www.superleague.co.uk/statistics ... eason=2009
I'd imagine Paul Clough has made a hell of a lot more metres than them both too and that Bryn Hargreaves would be up there with KL and better than RB.

i would think it is much easier for the players you mention making meters off the back of rangers' drives and robys' dummy half runs. it will be interesting to see how they go without those key ruck players?

Kylie has looked lethargic this year. Apparantly afflicted with a virus early on that he struggled on with, but your point is well made.

Scruton's work rate and stats compare almost identically with Kylie and he has nearly 100 more tackles in the same number of games compared to Burgess. You don't want to look how he compares with Bailey.
I know he left us, but I've had a nagging feeling it has not done us much good up front.

My concern about the above;
Kylie doesn't have the stamina
Bailey doesn't have the desire

| This weekend will provide a really good benchmark of how our forwards are going. It's well known that Hudds like to play a physical game, and we will need to stand up to them to be in with a shout in what most would say will be a close game.
It would also be interesting to benchmark our forwards metres / yards / tackles, against theirs once the stats are released next week. Sadly I will be in the US, so maybe tvoc could do the business?

tvoc is currently tracking today's Vulcan test flight (first of the year) from Bruntingthorpe to Cosford (practice display) to Brize Norton (practice display and land) but will no doubt be looking to do just that when the SL website updates after the weekend's game.
As the info is carried in one of the trade papers someone (anyone) else is more than welcome to launch an interim report.
