Carnegie were trying to make themselves a centre of excellence for sport which I guess I can understand and which, if its' worked, will benefit the region.

They're also doing this by using money from the Carnegie Trust, which they're not allowed to use for staffing costs, etc, it's got to be sport related.

Maybe he has great contacts and has heard that Senior is going to the sister club to finish his career. He may even make the England team given the lack of attacking options there.

Don't forget that the almighty Simon Lee has been taken out of Leeds Met, so it's no longer one persons aim to have everything in LS6 stamped with the Carnegie Logo.

The man was/is accused of bullying his way through and maybe this is also the first signs of balance and the reversal of some megalomaniac decisions. I always wondered how on earth Google were forced/allowed on private roads on the LeedsMet campus to take photos for Google Street View - especially when there was a car ban on campus.

I heard concern that at University should be funding a sports club, but i would rather have them doing it than us. It is clear that the Rhinos need new players, the South Stand has to be rebuilt and now the club has to pay up to four million pounds on players. Because it looks clear that present team will be relegated again.

Again i raise the question does West Yorkshire want the kick and clap game, there is rumour doing the rounds that they scored more points against Manchester than people paided to watch the game.

Leeds Met is a commercial organisation just like Asda or any other decent sized commercial organisation, it needs to advertise to attract clients, it needs clients to provide it with income, it inherited the Carnegie brand with a long history of one of only two UK centre's of excellence and it used that brand to sponsor sport and in turn advertise to its target audience of High School clients who would be considering a Uni and the golden £2000 per head that Carnegie holds so dear to its corporate heart.

May be i am getting old but university should be using money on improving their faclites and this will attract students. Rather then wasting it on sports. They could even cut back on the fees they charge students.
