bollox emma, wigan apart we have been average at best all season. we are way under the cap, have to be as eastwood isn't here,have spaces and must have a decent amount in the bank. we need a forward and a centre.
the big question is why wasn't it done in the winter?

we do like we have for the past two years, forget about this loss get back on the horse and get through the season. There are no medals for winning in april and no one really cares about the hubcap. The crunch comes in sept and october and a loss on the back of a flat performance and a ref giving a freefalling team a leg up wont even be remembered 6 months from now.

The NZ national team could have played tonight but if they attacked like that they would have lost too. McClennan tried to tire the Bulls out by using the forward as battering rams but his tactics didnt work. We showed we were the better team when the ball (very rarely) was thrown about and had we just executed better we would have scored 6 tries.

You were flat after the cup game, as were Saints. Saints were fortunate to get the bounce of the ball and win narrowly, Leeds didn't and lost narrowly.

Leeds will pick up and I'll be surprised if they don't finish top of the pile.

The problem with signing a player is
a). Who is available.
b). Our hands are tied with Eastwood because we dont know if he will be coming next season, therefore if we did sign someone, do we sign em for the rest of this season or longer??

We need to get some fire back in the belly of the forwards, and some pace into the backs. Our attack is the biggest worry for me. We're playing too much one man rugby and its all down the middle. Also all the players in the attacking line seem to be stood way too far apart and because theres no off ball movement (ie some dummy runners) they ball carrier is isolated when he gets the ball making us very easy to defend against.

money talks emma. if a player is off contract at the end of the season a club will often be happy to transfer him rather than let him leave for nothing at the seasons end.

But during the past two years, when we were in a losing spell, it didn't last all that long and we still tried to play good rugby. This season we have been, with one exception, garbage. The lack of inventiveness, spark and ability to break a defence has been a feature of the whole season so far - 9 games - the worst run for years. The smallness of the squad means we can't rotate players and put fresh ones in of a high enough standard to lift the team. And can someone please tell me what the point of Buderus is? What does he contribute? New players are crucial if the season isn't to fizzle out.
Remember the last time we went out of the cup in the first round? Smith never lost 2 games in a row the whole of that season.
