| I like him. As others have pointed out, he's no starting prop but he drags in the tacklers. I reckon an end of season video of Leeds tries would see a fair few scored on the play following him driving the ball in centrally. And once we can run with 2 genuine starters he ought to be better.

Think Smith said in an earlier presser that McDonnell will be out for a few. I've not heard him say anything to suggest Holroyd won’t be back soon. Big but almost inevitable sigh at the news that Fusitua will be out for a couple of months. Makes this year's contract decision a very simple one. I hope we go British and look at Tom Davies.

| I’m not sure we need to sign another senior winger. Fus will play some of this season at least: by the time we get to 2025 it’s possible that Simpson, Smith, Frater, McCormack, Roberts might have nailed the spot. We’ll see how the season progresses.
I do think we need a different selection in the pack against KR.

| Hull KR haven’t got a big pack either.
Hopefully Holroyd will be back and take Donaldsons spot.
Sangare is getting stick but he was a real handful last night and commits a lot of defenders

Look at the amount of defenders he attracts and he very rarely gets put on the ground creating a quick play the ball, he’s not a wrecking ball meter making type prop and never will be.
Looking at the stats (which don’t mean everything) our props were better in most areas than Salfords, we weren’t dominated in the prop area.
Salford played a great game plan (slowing the game down, messing about at the ruck) and Sneyd was on point with his in game kicking, but it wasn’t enough and Id say we wete way off our potential.
Hull KR are a totally different prospect with different capabilities, will be interesting to see how we go, I suspect it will be more free flowing which will actually suit us better than last night.

| Sangare made more meters than any of Salfords props and he was the third most meters out of all our Props.
Oledski made double the meters than Salfords leading meter making prop.

| Hard to judge KR given how dire FC were. I do think we have more to come but their place is never an easy place to go.

I agree, the optimist in me says they don’t look as organized or clinical as last year but like I said too small a sample to judge them on.

Do the stats report minutes Christopher? I assume Sangare did less minutes than most.

Don’t think they do.
Sangare was pretty much identical as Sangare with the same carries and same metres per carry.
Mik was the top prop performer (stats wise) with over twice the amount of metres and most carries and metres per carry.
The only stat that Salford really outperformed us on was inevitably the kicking stats.
They however made more tackles and we made more errors.
The new stats page is far better than last year

| For me, Sangare is ok at what he does. It’s what he doesn’t do that bugs me. If you are only going to be on the pitch for 15 minutes then you need to be a whirlwind and cause mayhem. He causes problems for the oppo, just not enough.

| I thought Sangare was fine. He offers more impact than some interchange props we've had over the years.
McDonnell said he'd be back for round 2 or 3 going by what he said on Sky.

| Would people rather have Sangare or Donaldson at prop?
He gets way too much stick IMO. He played well last night. People saying he isn’t aggressive are watching a different game to me. He is fourth prop out of Mik, Holroyd, Lisone and him but he plays his role. I’d like us to have a #1 or #2 new prop to raise standards but we need to see how the season plays out.

Have we got a contender for southstander.com yearly scapegoat already in Sangare
