I'm not confident but hoping last week was the shake up we needed to kick start the season

I tipped leeds but really not sure. last week was shambolic tactics wise. surely it can only get better

I’ve no idea where this one will go. Hull have a big pack and some ex Leeds players who are good. If we play like last week they’ll put 30 points on us.

I’d like to think we will be fired up for this given last weeks horror show but we just seem a bit all over place at the moment. We will see

This week is more hope than form!

I'll be there tomorrow but I must confess that the abject nature of last weeks performance has taken a lot of the anticipation away from me. McDonald's expected return leaves us with only three first choice players who are injured, which by our somewhat catastrophic injury benchmarks, is as good as it gets. If we are to win the forwards are going to have to improve massively. As dissapointing as our spine was last week, they are always going to struggle if we get smashed down the middle. Fingers crossed for a huge improvement.

Dwyer nailed on to score against us surely? Wouldn't be surprised if Liam gets one too. Like you say, can only get better!

Based on last weeks performance we will get beat.
But let`s hope it was a blip and our half backs, full back and forwards put in a shift.

I've not liked our pack for a while and it's not much better this year for me. Lisone, from what Smith is saying, looks to be some way off being anywhere near fully firing. Sounds like it's taking him a bit to settle. We badly miss Mik when he's not in and fully fit. I think we have lacked power for some time now. I'm sure Smith will sort in time once he has cap to play with and as the yonger guys develop of course.

Looking at it for tomorrow we lack some punch. Bentley coming back helps us but only in work rate and defence.

Holroyd - Has potential but a way way off yet.
O`Connor / Leeming - Meh. O'Connor could be very good but he's a long way off the best in SL still.
Tetavano - Meh. Been very poor on balance though was better when smith came in. Doesn't make enough yards.
Gannon - Huge potential and punching above weight now.
Martin - Like. Good player.
Smith - Like. Good player will get better.

Lisone - Too early, looks unfit.
Sangare - Like. Looks best prop with Mik. Huge potential to get better.
Oledzski - Best prop and up there with best in SL.

On the evidence of last week that is certainly the case. However on paper we have strengthened our props. Lisone is clearly lacking match fitness, but he is getting in the minutes so that should come sooner rather than later. Rohan has made some pretty bold statements about him, so we have to be positive. Sangare looks very good, and did last year too. Holroyd is 22 and really needs to step up this year. If he really is "miles off" he's way behind his peers. I'm hopeful that he is going out there to make a point this week.

Holroyd is bound to be well behind though given his injuries. He needs a full season being fully fit before he gets anything like.

Makes me wonder why Walters wasn't given a chance. I'd put him in ahead of tetavano currently.

I actually don't think he's as far away as you think. Physically he's a big lad, and he's also had a full pre-season as well as trial games. If he is going to live up to the potential we hope he has, surely it should start this year.

I'd like to see mcdonnell in the back row as I think he would add some grit on and off the ball in the absence of Bentley.

Has the feel of an important game. Maybe because we've been, and might continue to be, a very streaky side. Just hoping a Furner-esque run isn't just round the corner. I'll go Leeds by a single score.

I’d go with that as well. Maybe tell him to have a big 20 minutes where he really puts himself about and help get us to off to a better start.

Regarding Holroyd he may have slimmed down a bit much and needs to build back a little. He is still a puppy in prop terms. A few years ago Mik came out of preseason with a huge backside but has now found his shape and matured. Holroyd needs some luck and time and hopefully he can develop under Smith.

With Tony Smith there FC will play the best football they’ve done in ages. Hope it’s a really entertaining game and we can get the win but who knows.

It’s important we don’t peak too early and risk finishing higher than 5th.
