Has Robert Hicks received a ban for his performance as the VR?
I don`t recall the Gale incident. How bad was it?
Also did I miss the outcome of the deliberate use of the forearm to Myler`s throat?
I know it was only deemed a grade B.

Disciplinary meetings are tomorrow night so I guess Wynne's ban will be assessed there together with his defence. |

The system of bans is an absolute joke, considering the issues the sport is going through, with many teams struggling to get squads together. They should consider increasing fines as a temporary measure, and reducing bans for more mild offenses. All out brawls still need bans though.
That being said, Gale was absolutely stupid to make the contact he did. I wonder if the club are starting to see him as a liability, hence the desire to secure Austin for next year. I think Gale is a great player, but he’ll have to work a lot harder to keep his starting spot, as Myler and Sezer must be shoe-ins.

It was the handbags near our line in the first half. We held them short and one of their players slightly pushed Gale out of the way and Gale as he does, reacted and went ‘looking’ for the guy that had pushed him and as he went towards him put both his hands in back of ref....very gentle contact but as soon as I saw it I knew he’d get banned but wasn’t expecting 2 games.
Crazy when punishment for accidentally catching ref with light contact gets you same ban as raining punches in a brawl |

Gale cannot be excused whatsoever for this as it was a total act of stupidity on his behalf and especially with the referee stood directly in between the player he wished to shove (was it Williams?)
Gale will now potentially miss 2 games (unless the club wish to challenge this decision) whilst the club are pushing for a place in the play offs and whilst games are coming thick and fast and we need our best players out on the field

All those defending Gale, its indefensible what he did. He put 2 hands on Kendall and shoved him trying to get to Williams. When he tapped he Williams he laughed in a jovial manner like two pals having bants. Hes got 2 matches. A leader and (captain) needs to give their head a shake if they think thats acceptable. You cant touch the ref under any circumstances. It wasnt accidental, it wasnt gentle, it was stupid. Im actually incensed that he did it. The equivalent of an inplay coach killer.
Look at what happened to Mellor and Briscoe, and that was a fleeting touch running into a melee.
