| This one is going to be interesting especially after today's win v Salford, especially with injuries tolling up... Golding, Watkins, Burrow, Sutcliffe, Delaney, Keinhorst, Ferres, Walters. Handley all could be missing (guessing Golding & Keinhorst will be due back)
Walker
Briscoe Ward Hall Golding
Mcguire Moon
Galloway Parcell Singleton
JJB Ablett
Cuthbertson
Keinhorst Mullally Garbutt Lilley
Baldwinson A Sutcliffe.

| Tough game to call. On our day we are probably the best team in the league. At our worst, we are abysmal and can have big scores put on us. It is this disparity in performance that will mean that we won't win the Grand Final. I think you will beat us on Friday but we will win the Semi

If Golding and Keinhorst fit. Jimmy advised last week that he was hoping to return this week.

| Interesting one this, the suggested injuries are largely to players who are rumoured to retire (Burrow) or to those who are likely fit to play (Golding and Keinhorst) or those deemed not good enough anyway by many (Handley and Walters) so we're not as handicapped by injury as it might appear. Of the above list, only Watkins and Ferres are likely to be missing but would play if they were fit.
Can anyone tell us the last time Delaney played 6 consecutive games? Seems like he's always injured these days.

I think we need Keinhorst back most (Watkins is just a one week protocol thing). That left centre position has been a nuisance for a while now and would really help it he can return this week and then stay fit. Ward did very good there yesterday but should be back in the forwards ideally.

If Burrow, Sutcliffe and Delaney were fit they would be in the mix along with Watkins, Ferris, Golding and Keinhorst. So not sure of your point as that makes 7 regulars injured.

| I know Burrow out for long period...if he does retire after this season I hope we keep him on as a coach as he has done excellent work with U16s..maybe give him bigger role in academy coaches. Would also like to see him do one on one coaching with some of younger backs.

I suppose much of my point is actually about next year, when a number of those players probably won't be here. If McGuire is also moving on, there is a big chunk of salary cap coming free even after signing Myler. It's all well and good saying Delaney would be in the 17 if fit, problem is he hardly ever is. I'd be looking to find a way to release him if we could.
I just don't think that we are going to be missing much as Golding and Keinhorst will likely play.

| I wouldn't be surprised to see Moon back at 4 in this one because of Watkins' injury. Can't realistically see Keinhorst coming straight into the centres against Fonua and co after not using his hand for 12 weeks.

This is my thinking also, but giving Golding the wing spot with Hall moving into centre. Keinhorst has to be on the bench.

| I'd start with Keinhorst. Yes he's lacking match fitness but his fitness levels should still be good as it was a single finger injured and he's still been able to run, bike work and other general fitness work so it's not like he's only just returned to running after a knee/hamstring/groin injury.
It'd also free Ward up to play 2nd row, with a 5 day turnaround and facing a Hull side whose strength is their pack then need to get him back in the forwards to help out and not rely on Ablett and especially JJB on a short turnaround doing massive stints in the 2nd row. Start Ward and Ablett and bring JJB on during the 1st half and rotate the 2nd rowers well for a change.
If Keinhorst is struggling 2nd half then we can revert Ward to centre or Moon with Lilley coming on to HB.

I agree regarding Golding and Keinhorst but I suppose that is the idea of having a better quality all round squad. Delaney has was putting in some decent performances before his last injury. But you would still rather go into a game with your first choices.
Just the other week some were writing off Mags and JJB yet against Salford they both showed once again they still have what it takes.

| I would go with Ward and Keinhorst in the centres and Lilley on the bench. Perhaps give Golding another week off as hamstrings need time and Briscoe's two tries will have given him some confidence.

Keinhorst hasn't done anything with his hand for 12 weeks Mac said. No catching, passing, not involved with learning new calls/ plays. There's no way he can come into the centre yet. If Golding is fit I can see Hall going to centre. If Golding isn't fit, it's Moon at 4.
JJB and Ablett will definitely start because Mac doesn't drop them.

| I think Delaney is on a long contract. He really needs to have a think about his quality of life in later years now I think. Always gives 100% for us though.

Keinhorst will have been back in training for over a week by Friday's game, that should be fine wrt to play calls. He might not have been able to participate physically previously but he'll still know what the teams being doing and Lilley came back to Leeds and only had a few days before the Saints game and Segeyaro came off a plane and soon into action that week in more key positions than centre wrt play calls so that isn't a issue.
With the catching and passing again he'll have a weeks training under him and yeah he'll be a bit rusty but he will be if he starts from the bench.
Moon has done too well at HB to move him and going to centre limits him to an certain area of the field. The big Hull forwards certainly wouldn't prefer facing his footwork compared to Lilley and McGuire. I agree JJB and Ablett probably will start but really one of them shouldn't. We have 3 good 2nd rowers available this week including Ward, start two bring one off the bench and rotate wisely because it's one of Hull's strong positions.
Given we aren't exactly the best at providing our three quarters with loads of ball then Ward and Moon are too good and important not to see more ball further infield.
