JJB makes a lot of tackles and Handley is alright for a reserve. McGuire is giving away a lot of penalties, and should be too experienced to get sin binned for descent. Delaney I agree with. Briscoe I would personally drive to another club. I think we're pretty high up in the league considering the current squad so wouldn't sack the coach. Ferres is international standard on his day, so isn't anywhere near the main scapegoat IMO. The biggest joke tonight is Cas were without Shenton, Moors and Lynch. Gale was supposed to be iffy too.

Others I missed. Walters winning us a grand final was a shock. He's poor. Baldwinson hasn't been given enough of a chance to show what he can do and you have to find a place for Sutcliffe somewhere in the 17. Good yards after contact and great attacking in broken play.

Point remains valid though - why put someone on the bench if you're not going to play them? It's okay having a game plan, but when you're 2 scores down with 10 minutes left you have to roll the dice. We missed Burrow out of dummy half - why not just give Walker a go? Nothing to lose, except McD's own pride.

We have ready made replacement for most of them players, oledszki, Lilley. Hallas, jj Roberts,aston, ormanroyd. All out on loan.we would only need 3-4 signings plus you would expect 2-3 academy players to start pushing through. I'd rather we went with a younger fresher squad for 2018 and build for 2019-2020 than carry on with a clearly fading squad. Plus contracts meen nothing, we have shipped out players before and had culls like 2002

Massive overreaction. If Leeds had managed to complete a few more sets we could easily have won; McDermott's comments before the game (uncharacteristically) helped to inspire the opposition. Not miles away from the top club for what was always going to be a transitional season for us.

I'd agree the game was there for the taking; point is, we didn't complete the sets and never looked capable of taking it. And, turning your point around, had Cas played to their potential, how many do you think they might have run in?

Will we still be saying this in 5 years' time? It seems to me "transitional season" is becoming a marvellously convenient euphemism for "mediocrity". Exactly how many "transitional seasons" are we supposed to stomach? Are we not one of, if not THE, top-earning clubs in SL?

We have been steadily declining as a squad since 2010. SL has been declining with us, particularly at the very top so we have still been able to pick up trophies during the Mac era. Comparing this squad now with that 2010 one, that won nothing BTW, tells you all you need to know.

I don't really see a transition as such, just us bringing in average or worse players than went before or player getting older with no real apparent successor in key positions yet. The signing of the likes of Myler if true says it all.

I really do fear where is going long term at the minute and when JJB, Burrow, McGuire, Ablett, Hall have done, which isn't too far away, what we will become.

it was wrong because it didn't work and he wasn't capable of changing it. let's face it walker couldn't have done worse than Sutcliffe
