Doubt we could afford him without using marquee . Might not go down well with the likes of Watkins, Hardaker etc.

I even be prepared to go for just 1 year. Then gives us time to think/organise long-term replacements and Farah, who might have limited offers in the NRL with it being so late in the year can still find himself getting a big money deal back in the NRL for 2017.

Also doesn't tie us up to a big money contract for too long with our batch of younger players expecting more money over the next few years.

At successful clubs like the Rhinos it is sometimes necessary to prioritize at what age group is the most worthy of the best investment in junior talent in order that their pathway to the first team isn't going to be blocked due to the current outstanding players there that occupy their positions,otherwise some other SL side will take them off your hands and reap the rewards of your hard work

But i know that you are fully aware of this and that you know only too well of the vast depth of talent waiting to progress to the Rhinos first team in the next 2 to 3 years

Sometimes some short term overseas signings can prove to be successful in a club retaining its position to play in the big games when they come around whilst waiting for the talented juniors to be ready to take their place

I wonder how others feel about bringing in a player on anything like that kind of Money? I'm not sure that bringing in a Marquee player on anything substantially above the current upper level of salary paid to our top end earners is a wise move. It could prove to be very divisive move and could cause some of our current talent to look else where.

Regardless of which club it strikes me that a 1 year deal is most likely chance of seeing Farah in SL. Allows him to line up a big final payday(with the increasing cap etc) back in the NRL for 2017

Even with the marquee ruling will many SL clubs be able fit Farah under the cap (as a lot of recruitment for next year will be done even if not announced) as they'd still need 175k free.

As big a talent as he is, he has a proven track record of undermining his coach and other senior players. He's obsessed with Origin and clearly wouldn't be happy playing away from the NRL. As the club goes through a transition in terms of leadership, I'd be wary of signing such an arrogant gobe.
