| Why do RL players from the north of England have such a problem with moving away from there? Whether it's London or the southern hemisphere, players repeatedly seem to have a problem with relocating. It seems much rarer for southern hemisphere players moving around there or to Europe to have problems.

| I'm not so sure that's right Richie. I'm sure plenty of Aussies and Kiwis get homesick too - there's just a lot more of them in total over here so those that go home early aren't as apparent.
Northern lads seem to struggle more in London - but that's more understandable.

| So I assume the new marquee player rules are a shoe in.
Honestly though for a big tough sport RL players can be a bit soft when it comes to homesickness. I don't hear about in soccer where players move around much more to countries much different.
UK to AUS and vice versa is hardly being plonked on Mars, it shares a language and a similar culture. Not to be able to see out a three year commitment playing rugby on the money he is on is pathetic.
I lived in the US for three years in my mid twenties earning probably less than he spends on clothes a month.

| Come on Uncle Gary. Do the decent thing.
Won't happen but it'd be f**king hilarious if we signed him.

He'll only play for Wigan and besides you have Hardaker. But it would be funny if he somehow did sign for you.

| two years in the NRL is not bad really, hardly doing a runner. He's Probably not been the huge success perhaps he might have been but certainly no failure and still the rest of this season to go yet. I was always a little shocked TBH that he chose the Warriors over one of the more flashy OZ clubs, and maybe the more sedate lifestyle in NZ is taking its toll.
Obviously would be a shock to see him go anywhere other than Wigan, and it will strengthen them no end, but i will be glad to see him back in our competition.

| A cynical thought crossed my mind.
Given the rumour of an iniment 'massive' signing announcement and the ongoing delay with the results (being published anyway) of the Zak 'investigation' could these two be linked?????

| Any interest im Tomkins from Leeds would have a Buderus/Diskin feel to it imo
He's a great player who will improve SL but I would rather get Hardaker tied down to a longer contract and continue with him and Goulding
Tomkins will be a big earner and I think Leeds would be better to use that kind of money and space in other areas of the squad

| Rather keep Hardaker but we do have some cap space with a few big earners leaving.
It would be a boost for the club image to sign a big name like Sam. But we are fortunate to have an international standard FB already at the club

I agree, we need to be using the money on other areas, we are well stocked in the backs.
There is a little part of me, like Him says, that would so enjoy the moment if he did come to us and snubbed the pies
Won't happen though.Done deal i reckon, Sam wouldn't have made this announcement yet if it wasn't

Would be nice to see.Could very possibly see him move to the halves for the Warriors now they know they need to groom his replacement FB for next year

They have agreed a contract with Roger Tuivasa-Sheck from the Roosters who plays fullback, and is rated as a far better player than Tomkins, so they won't need to groom anyone.

Fair enough, i had no idea they already signed someone. Apparently the Warriors have a conveyor belt of super young talent in that area though, as taken from the ramblings of the wannabe frenchman on the VT.

| Could play him in the halves with Sutcliffe...
I'm sure there were stipulations about Wigan getting first refusal if he came back. He'd just be a straight swap for Bowen. Also the Doctor would probably drop Locke to get him.

| He's massively injury-prone now, possibly chronically so. Certainly doesn't have the pace he did when he broke through. Still an exceptional player but only if you can get him on the park.
