| Has anyone got a reliable source that can confirm if we've signed Tom Briscoe on a 3 year deal and that BJB is Wire bound?
Seems that some people think this to be fact.
Just thought I'd put it out there.

Exactly like a Notebook.
Must be replacing someone then, and I doubt Hall is going anywhere.

| I have extremely unreliable info that Smith has a high regard for Vickery - sees him as the new Benny Westwood minus the good looks - & that he's bound for the HJ.

| I heard this but not from anyone too reliable, a bit hit and miss really, but also added Keinhorst might be let go too on the back of this.

That would seem a little quick on the mark for Keinhorst he has two years left and would be a good squad player for us if BM decided to use him in his position or at least give him a run in the team..... Briscoe to Leeds is possible, but I have to say that he has been hit and miss lately, maybe as he knows he wants to leave

| That was my initial thought but if he's not seen to be progressing as he should be at Hunslet, for whatever reason, then maybe the coaching staff don't want him taking up a squad place for the next two years. Might be coincidence but the Leeds lot were watching the Hunslet v Batley game so maybe that was a bit of a make or break game for him? He was quiet in attack, through no fault of his own really, but solid in defence. Anyway like I said the source of this not great so wouldn't read too much into it for now.

| From what we keep hearing in Hull is that Tom Briscoe will be plying his trade in the north west next session. With there being 2 options, going to Wigan as a replacement for Pat Richards, or the good Dr at Salford splashing the cash. As a hull supporter it will be a shame to see him leave but defiantly not unreplaceable I'd be more concerned if we were about to lose young Tom Lineam or Ben Crooks as those two boys are something special and are only going to get better.

| Hope we don't get briscoe, mainly we should keep our cash for signing some forwards. We have two ageing props, also the hooking berth still has not been resolved after the departure of buderus and our brief flirtation with Lunt .
Another reason is briscoe is a competent winger, but for Leeds rhinos we demand a higher standard than most teams. For example the signing of moon, and the ever increasing improvement of Watkins . The try he scored against Wigan was superb.

Spot on about lineham, he is still a bit raw but you can see the potential . He is quick and strong and has a good physique if we are to splash the cash to hull it should be for lineham.
Him and Watkins playing together would be a treat.

5 years? Think he's damn lucky to get that long if so. He's a good player but currently no world beater like Hall. Seem to be throwing all eggs into one basket with a deal like that. Also I think it shows how desperate they might be to get him - wrong IMO

Dont think we are splashing any cash for Briscoe as he is a free agent because he was meant to be going to the Sharks in the NRL but has changed his mind after they were implicated in the doping scandal
5 years does seem too long given his form this year but thats what I have been told

| Signing Tom Briscoe - and the significant chunk of salary cap it would require - would be a piece of chronic mismanagement by Hetherington.
Presumably the usual suspects will be against this signing as it would add further barriers to the likes of Chisholm, Watson and Duckworth getting in the first team

| Watson is already going at end of this season, Chisholm may well switch codes and go play with Carnegie on a more permanent basis, which would leave Duckworth as back up and slowly introduced to first team.

Agree.
BUT (as you also stated I think)....we do not need another threequarter as much as we need a good damn quality hooker, and/or scrum half.

Who knows. Maybe ratchford is not seen as the next full back or has been offered pots of gold back at Salford?

| Would be a good signing not too sure at the expense of BjB tho. I know Briscoe has played fullback at times for hull, so there's potential to cover that position also. After a few years I think his future will be in the centres. He's an international player, the more the merrier

So in your mind Tom briscoe the England international is the same quality as vickery?
Regarding the top bit of your post I agree I personally think if he comes he will be on a large wedge of cap, which would be wiser spent elsewhere.
A back line of Hardaker, Briscoe, Watkins, Moon and hall would be a very exciting line up but we have problems in the halfs and soon to be retireing props that needs addressing

That's a great leap of logic you've made there.
Unless Briscoe is signing for Leeds before the end of this season, whether he's better than Vickery or not is irrelevant. The question is whether he would be a substantial upgrade on Jones-Bishop, enough to merit the higher salary he would no doubt demand.
The answer to that question - IMO - is no he isn't.
