| I am the first to acknowledge the least of the problems until we get a pack with some balls ( Delaney looked our best " prop " ) ... JJB excepted. Buderus .... Nuff said. A crime he doesn't get the full 80.
The coaching is non existent ... No game plan I can see.
... However back to subject. BJB is an attacking talent but apparently hopeless under the high ball to the wing, Smith is hopeless full stop, Ablett trys hard but is too slow or daft to draw his man before passing ( he did look better on the right ...and IS better than Delaney but still no centre ) and Watkins is suspect at centre when defending. Hall too looks more like a carthorse these days.
Our best all rounder is Hardaker !!! Still see him as a stand off though.
... So maybe go with Watkins right wing; BJB inside him. Let's give Wilson a crack in the other centre position and even Chisholm on the left wing... UNLESS Hall starts showing us the again the pace he demonstated against the Cats at Murrayfield a few years ago.( yeah I've been watching old recordings in an attempt to remind myself why I support this presently e team ).
For the record it was Ali's ( gosh I remember him being good too ) pass in his own half which freed Hall to beat Greenshields on the outside. Brilliant. Those were the days.
Get Broughton back ... A proper winger

Absolutely agree. Did not need yesterday to tell me that. It was criminal that the lad was dropped for yesterday.
BJB has made the same mistake 4 times in 2 weeks. Not writing the lad off, because he is good, but 4 times in 2 weeks is unacceptable. Hardaker had a much better game at Wigan also, and should have been in.
Hall for me too is a poor version of his previous seasons. Said it all season. It was no surprise that Catalans continually attacked our left hand side, because they were holding back all the time and out of position. But we don't have many options.
I would go for next Friday if possible. Webb, Hall, Watkins, Ablett, Hardaker. Smith was shocking yesterday and deserves to be dropped, otherwise I would really have liked to have got Ablett back in the pack.

As he left the DW Stadium on crutches last week I'm not sure his 'dropping' was a complete surprise.

| Hardaker's was something to do with his ankle. He was rated 50:50 in mid-week so doesn't sound a long-term problem.

| BJB was definitely found out in a big way with the cross field kick on Sunday. He is clearly very talented and ticks so many boxes, but he is obviously a full back.
As for Hall being a Carthorse, I feel that a touch unfair. He is left without his centre partner for the first time in a good while and it showed. Ablett has been good at centre, but will not feed Hall the information and guidance, that he still looks to need, that Keef did.
The lack of coaching is really beginning to show as no-one appears to be making progress. The lack of pattern and organisation within the backs was incredible.

| Webb, Hardaker, BJB, Watkins, Hall, Sinfield, Burrow.
We have lacked pace in the backs.

Sinfield needs to be at loose forward. That is his position, and by far and away the best player at the club to fill that role. The team plays better with him there, and I have no doubt that this team would improve so much with him in that position.
One of the major failings of this team this year his having him at stand off. Not a bad stand off, but for the teams sake he needs to be at 13.

| I agree, but McGuire at the moment is just not doing anything. Maybe Webb to half back to allow BJB, to full back but that won't happen.

You can put Ablett or Smith to half back for me, I don't really care, as long as they can be spared. But Sinfield needs to be 13, the team is completely different when that happens, and he holds it all together.

| We don't have any centres at all without Senior and with Delaney at second row. In terms of making breaks and scoring/letting in points, centre is probably the key position in RL. We probably have the weakest centre pariing in SL at the moment, and you'd have to look as far back as 1996 maybe to find a worse set of options for Leeds.
Ablett is a makeshift at best, and Smith seems to have gone backwards at a rate of knots. Until Watkins is fit we don't have anybody else with any experience at all in the position.
Given that, I'd look at which of the existing backs may have the capability to move there. I'd prefer to keep Hall on the wing unless he wants to try centre, as he hasn't really shown much in the way of the sort of attributes you'd expect to see (some kind of passing, good decision making in defence), except for his size. Of the others, both BJB and Hardaker look more natural 'footballers' as they say here in Oz, but both may be a bit lightweight.
Given the state of this season, I think a few experiments may as well be taken with the centres for the remainder of the year. As it is, I fully expect we'll see Smith/Ablett continue until Waktins is fit, and then probably Smith/Watkins. Depressing indeed.

| WTF have Wasps done to Lee Smith. I was delighted when he came back, but that try at home to Wigan in the Cup apart, he's been fairly lousy.

| If McGuire had a bit more about him physically I'd be tempted to try him at centre until someone better is found... His passing, step, acceleration and even short kicking game would be an asset there. Especially if McDermott persists in using Sinfield at stand-off.
