| just been rugby training and mentioned the griffin rumours to my cousin who knows danny brough so he text him asking and broughy confirmed he has signed for next year on a three year deal.
personally i don't think he is a bad player but i think we should be aiming for bigger signings than this.my only thought is that their could be a bigger signing in a different position for next year. , maybe seniors replacement if he goes.

| think he would be a really good signing for us, partner him up with JP give him no 8, and give Kylie no 15
If true my squad for next year would look something like this:
1 Jones Bishop
2 Smith
3 Watkins
4 New Centre
5 Hall
6 McGuire
7 Burrow
8 Griffin (if rumours are true)
9 Buderus
10 Peacock
11 Jones Buchaanan
12 Ablett
13 Sinfield
14 McShane
15 Leuluai
16 Bailey
17 Delaney
18 New prop
19 Hardaker
20 Hauraki

| if we still have peacock.we could be using the extra space on salary cap to offer new contracts.if senior did go would you like to see somebody similar come into his position or go for another half back because mcguire keeps getting knocks and burrow has been found out now.would like to see us go for rangi chase but cant see it tbh.

| wouldn't mind going for a youngish half back, Chase would be ideal, not too sure of any other out of contract half backs that would be worth signing. We have youngsters like Stevie Ward coming through, but think he might be like Sinny, can play half back, but prefers Loose Forward

| With a few players leaving we should be well under the salary cap and also space on overseas quota. I think a new quality centre and back-up at half-back are the key signings assuming Griffin is a done deal. Would like Chase but don't think it will happen. GH must have some deals lined up!

| A pretty decent signing. But he is a player than needs others around him having good go forward too. As I said on another thread he is doing alright these days because he is in a dominant pack the previous years he hasn't been recognised. Its a step in the right direction.

Chase is not out of contract until the end of the 2013 season on his current deal. It will be announced that he has signed a new 4-year deal with Cas in July which will take him to the end of 2015 (and make him the highest paid player in the club's history).
Unfortunately for you Ratchford has already agreed terms with Warrington.
The name I have heard linked with the Rhinos is Braith Anasta, but it's only a rumour doing the rounds.

i know Chase isn't, i was just wondering if there were any out of contract half backs available. Anasta would be a quality signing, would probably replace Ali, not a similar player in terms of style, but would be a good replacement all the same.

Just because he plays in the NRL doesn't make him a quality signing!
the only way that it would be a good signing is if sinfield was to leave the club, otherwise he would have no role in the team.

Is he still with Jodie Gordon? If he is, that would be a quality signing.

Well he plays second row for the roosters! Mostly 11 this season. So I do think he would have a role as a backrower or stand off. But he is mr pundit for fox. He could earn just as much in the media and coaching as he would at Leeds without the $hit weather, miserable vibe and economic $hitstorm which is far from over.

Could blend in quite nicely.
He would add the aggression that I've been screaming for, he does need to watch his silly penalties though. Fine line between aggression and sillyness.
But he has good tempo setting a platform and has good hands both with the offload and ball retention.

| Would be a very shrewd signing IMO.
As for those who are underwhelmed, I don't know who some people expect us to sign to be honest, Shane Webcke perhaps?
I can't speak for the NRL but there aren't many props in SL better than the ones Huddersfield have at the moment - Griffin, Mason, Crabtree and Patrick. You only have to look at the Hudds forum to see how worried they are that Griffin looks set to leave.

Are we not talking about Griffin? So why bring the other three Huddersfield props into it? Griffin is the worst of that 4.
Like I said on the other thread, you talk about who else could we have had. Mason, Graham, Huby, Carvell, Ferriol, were all out of contract for end of this season, and all are better than Griffin.
I would guess that would be why people are underwhelmed. Not so much that Griffin is a bad player by any stretch, but just because there were better alternatives, and there is much better players out there.

Carvell and Graham are better alternatives but not realistic ones.
Huby is overrated and has no aggression. Ferriol is probably underrated but has too much aggression.
Griffin is more or less on a par with Mason. However only one of them got called up for England last year

Agree with above, Its not that Griffin is rubbish but there were better alternitives, However IF we do sign him wont be too upset, and he is a improvement on Cross

Does the same apply to the selection of Graham and Carvell?
One thing's for sure, even McBanana hasn't smoked enough of the green stuff to listen to the Sky team and call up Craig Huby.
