Theoretically we can now, say, deregister the injured Lauititi and bring in A.N. Anzac for the next few weeks with no sanction?

What's to stop you just signing as many Quota as you want and have a rolling registration depending on who's fit and who's in form. As long as you didn't field more than 5 you'd be fine.

Do they not look at potential loop holes before submitting laws in our game? It's a joke is this system as people have already said whats the point in limiting your overseas quota and then allowing a sort of rotation policy.

It's not they didn't close loop holes AFAIA... Worse - it's that they gave Hull KR special permission to be allowed to re-register Dobson. They allowed this whole scenario to occur fully aware of what would happen.

It's written in that any de-registering/re-registering "would require the full support of the RFL Board of Directors", presumably meaning any potential loophole has "manual override" and the RFL can close the avenue off by not supporting the application. But they did support it...

I'm quite happy with this decision as long as they don't let them re-register Mason. AFAIK this was always planned to happen at some point anyway once Mason received his dodgy passport, which is a whole new issue!

Don't know why anybody is surprised. The RFL has always been an amateur body masquerading as professional. This story epitomises it.

I want to see the best players in this league and if Mason wants to go off to Toulon then let him. Rovers had every right to de-register him and bring Dobson back.

We are never going to see the best players in the league whilstever we fill it with NRL rejects.

Dobson's one of the best 7's in SL. Not all players who come over are "rejects". Chase could walk into quite a few NRL teams. All this thread is doing is having a moan for moanings sake. I mean, what has it exactly got to do with us? Why has it wound people up? Is it the reason why we are languishing down in mid table and looking very average with ball in hand?

It's farcical. for those of us that have no affiliation to the RFL it makes the sport look amateurish, foolish and plain stupid.

They set these rules up to protect the sport then simply change them to suit.

The product on the pitch rarely changes an I enjoy watching the game. Having players be registered and de-registered is part of the game. They didnt have more than the allowed amount in the playing squad at any one time. get on with it.
