Made two poor errors at the start of the match, and was responsible for the penalty that gave Wigan the opportunity to tie the scores. In between it wasn't far from the perfect hooking performance, shame it about the two blots I mentioned.

Roby at Saints - he was superb once again last night and was MOM by a country mile.
Regarding Buderus I watched the recording of your match after I came back from ours and he thoroughly deserved the MOM thought he had an outstanding game last night. A game which incidently you should have won.

He received the Coach's Man of the Match too. When he accepted the 'award' he mentioned that he purposely wanted to increase his dummy half runs.

outstanding performance hope he can produce more games like it. Not just his passing from the ruck, support play always seems to have the knack of being there at the right time and making the vital tackle.

That's what great players do - it shows the ability to read the game is as important as the ability to perfom as a player gets older - shame some older Leeds players don't have that ability

I imagine a certain critique will contain all of the following:

1 min - Knock On at the Play The Ball
4 min - Penalty for Offside
9 min - Terrible Pass aimed towards Bailey causing poor Ryan to concede a penalty
77 min - Penalty for Interference at the Play The Ball
79 min - Penalty for Interference at the Play The Ball

Apart from that he was OK.

Given the work he did I think that is pretty good, as I said the penalty in the 79th minute was a point saver? if he only made one poor pass in a game that he probably made 100 I think that is a pretty good going - not to p1ss on your bonfire in any way.

He was very good Sal and deserved his m.o.m but if we are critically assessing the whole teams and individual performances he deserves to have his mistakes highlighting just as everyone else does.

Super performance. You are allowed a couple of errors when you can do what he did - control the ruck area, put us on the front foot, great tackling and distribution and scored a great try - class

It wasn't a choice of which hooker to retain, both were under contract and only one asked to be released.

Lets get 1 thing straight i think Buderus has had some good games and some not so good and i rate Mcshane highly but we've won naff all and far from proved that Diskin going to the Bulls was a great call.
If he continues last nights form and we win a trophy or he leads us well to a finall and performs as the 9 for 75%+ of the game then fair enough but lets not start another p!$$ing comp when the season isn't even half way through.

Buderus put in one of his best performances for Leeds last night. I don’t think that anyone has ever doubted for one minute that Buderus is a better player to watch than Matt Diskin. However as rhinoms said - Matt Diskin did bring the goods to Leeds. If Danny Buderus brings in no trophies, he’ll just go down with a long line of great players to have played for Leeds and not to win a trophy.

Overall, I’ve enjoyed Danny here, but they’ll always be that niggling doubt!

Danny Buderus' qualities as a rugby player will be no more defined by Grand Final rings than Ellery Hanley's will be defined by Ashes success.

They were probably another player's fault.

He had a good game but I am afraid the reaction to that on here is completely OTT and one cannot overlook his contribution to the point dropped. He was also flagging very, very badly for the last 15 mins.

Pleasing to see him pick up the man of the match award though, was that his first one in three seasons?

Hanley.

Unlike Buderus he had a significant amount of success at club level in this country.

Also unlike Buderus he managed to maintain his standards when he left his native league and play overseas.

It's unfair to compare Buderus coming to SL at the back end of his career with Hanley playing in Australia close to the peak of his career.

Better to say that both came to Leeds at similar ages, with big reputations (and salaries allegedly) and neither won any silverware (so far in DB's case, anyway).

How many wins did he partake at international level?

Both are good players - difference is to play for Australia in a key position you have to be an exceptional player - sadly the same cannot be said of playing for GB/England in any position!!
