Every player and club has a responsibility to promote our sport. Wigan should be fined for their dullness.

I know andy coley has spoke to sky sports this week. It is a shame really as it may have added some spice.

Mind you Maguire may not want to light the fuse by letting his players have a say or he may feel that Phil Clarkes comments have added to much friction as it is.

As the great bill shankley told his players "give em toffees" which was meant to tell his players Do not give the opposition a reason to want to beat your than they already do. Wigan will come to settle a score we need to match it as they say lets do the talking on the pitch

The club are clearly satisfied that the players can deal with the press. After all, they are used to the big game build up.

Obviously, this is a big weekend for small time clubs. It's understandable that they'd want to wrap their players up in cotton wool.

You would think they would let them enjoy it. After all, for most of those Wigan players, a semi final is going to be a "once in a career" thing.

Whats the harm? What ever is said before the game the players from both sides will still go onto the pitch focused and ready to play to the best to their abilities. Unless MaGuire feels his players are not professional enough to do that?

I can't believe that many players actually pay attention to what has been said in the press. Indeed, it wouldn't surprise me if half of the "interviews" on the club website are from the imagination of the Headingley press office, rather than from the mouths of the players.

At the end of the day, this is a play-off semi final. If you need something to "motivate" you for that, you're in the wrong profession.

It's telling that Maguire has let it be known that the ban is in place. That says as much as a whole week of trash-talking.

Or maybe he wants the players to focus on the match instead of talking to the press about what they have for breakfast before games or if they want revenge etc.

think he is avoiding what peacock wants and what these boys on here want for wiganers to get riled - i much prefer we quietly get on with it, turn up at headingley and give em a good hiding as per our last visit.

it will all make sense once we've won on saturday and you finally realise that your own players and coach should have kept their mouths shut and concentrated on the coming game instead of trying to turn it into some kind of Ferguson versus Wenger mind game, to which you have so far epically failed too by the way... its funny how no one else in the rugby world has agreed or acknowledges any of the comments from the leeds camp.

leeds was until this year probably the best club in the sport. this year you've turned into a bunch of whining bad losers which is a big shame. do your talking on the pitch like MM is trying to get our guys to do. if you end up winning that way then fair enough and i'm sure you'd deserve it. otherwise i think every man and his dog would much prefer you stopped embarrassing yourselves.
