That's quite a platform laid by a pack where 4 players shared the workload which is in stark contrast to Leeds' usual reliance on 1 or 2 although the 6 drop-outs forced to 1 would also play a part.

| Shows how dominant their pack was. The stats for carries by Vella and Clinton are outstanding. Nearing 20 carries and nearing 10 metres per carry. You can't argue with that.

| As against Sts, Leeds were very soft up the middle. Great performance by KR props or poor defence from Leeds? I'd say the latter.

only made 6 drives. if 'softcock' kirke had done 6 drives he would have been slaughtered on here.

Kirke made 30 (although missed a further 3), and made more meters. I though Kirke put himself about a bit on Friday, though Bailey had much more aggression in his tackling

Your comment last week on Kirke making 6 carries.
Quote ="G1"Still managed 21 tackles. Fair play. I suppose whilst he's shirking the ball and his team mates are doing his defensive work he can keep himself fresh to make some tackles.'"

| I don't mind Kirke and I think he has a role in the squad but he certainly doesn't dominate any tackle like Kylie, Peacock and even the likes of Ambler can.
Our pack has been intimidating and aggressive during our successful spell, Kirke is neither, I think that's G1's main problem with Kirke.

It's not. The whole display wasn't good enough.
However, I think the 31 tackles, and the whole teams tackle count, is telling here. The hit up count for all the forwards appears comparatively low. Perhaps that is because we simply saw much less ball in this game than we did in others? That would explain the low hit up rates and high tackle counts all around.
Don't just look at the numbers in these stats, analyze them in conjunction with the match itself.

Which ever way you look at it, Ambler was far superior to Bailey in every way on Friday, and has been for the last two weeks. The lad is coming along nicely, a shining light in a poor term effort.
Like you though, despite the stats, I don't see a place for Kirke.

Why does Ambler have to be judged against Bailey?
Ambler has been excellent these last two weeks. He's doing enough to cement a place in the 17 IMO. I'd run with 4 props in the 17 and when all are fit those 4 would be Peacock, Kylie, Bailey and Ambler.
There would be no place for Kirke.

He doesn't, but it was you whoe were trying to justify Bailey in comparison to all the forwards, saying they were all low. I just stated that if comparing to Ambler over last two weeks there is only one winner.

I wasn't justifying anything. I was simply explaining why you had to anaylse the statistics properly.
