Went to ground to pick up a ticket I'd ordered. Cricket was on so I couldn't park in the car park. Students had gone home so there were no residents in houses round about. I nipped into the office and when I got back to car warden was preparing ticket. Total time - 4 minutes. I argued that I was not parking - just picking up - but Jobsworth gave me a fine! Crazy!

There are no yellow lines. It does say 'Residents only', but I was literally picking a ticket up. Houses are empty - no residents there!

I know the people who live in one of those houses opposite the ticket office and most of them have moved in already mate, sorry. It's a right old hotspot for the traffic wardens though, they are usually pretty sound, there was one in the club shop the other day, asking if anyone was parked outside, before he gave any tickets.

Be warned anyone who parks round there for a game as well, I got there at 8 once for a game, and a bus load of wardens rolled up and started ticketing all the cars parked in the residents only bit.

Leeds even went to the trouble of putting notices up in the ticket office advising you not to park in St Michels Lane so, if you ignore all the signs, afraid you're not going to get any sympathy.

I was, all three days of it.

Holidays are for wimps and wusses, my next one will be a few days at christmas.

If you can prove that you were only gone for 4 mins then you may be able to appeal it. I have a feeling that you need to be observed for at least 5 mins, but I don't have a link.

generally 90% of parking tickets are invalid, so try and find a reason to appeal it

I agree with you Rhinos04! I went along to pick up some tickets, and I was carrying a baby. I parked the car outside and went into the office. As I went in, the attendant appeared so I immediately returned to the car, expalining that there was nowhere round about to park and I could not carry the baby a long way. He agreed that it was ridiculous but still gave me a ticket. He advised me to write in and he was certain they would cancel it. How wrong was he?! I was in the shop a total of 4 minutes as the tickets were pre-ordered. Maybe the Club should allocate a couple of spaces in the ground for pick-up only.

As long as there is no cricket on you can pull into the main car park and the attendant lets you park up.
Also there is a parking zone opposite the cafe,barbers and laundrette!!
Alternatively park in the south stand car park and walk round!

Park on the Rugby Pitch in future, leave it there aslong as you want. It wont do any damage!
