The good news again this week is that I have no issues with the awarding of Try Assists:
1 - Burrow (McGuire try)
1 - Ratu (Donald try)
Leeds' penalty and errors were the major disappointment this week especially after the improvement in the previous game V Hull KR.
It appears I may have done McGuire a dis-service earlier by suggesting he was responsible for four of the thirteen penalties. According to OPTA he was responsible for five. One to look at.
Leuluai's go forward - where did it go after last week?
Previous week's stats:

His metres will include one 50-60 metre run from the first half wont it (the Buderus half break and offload....)?
Other than that he is comparable to the rest of the backline, which is credit to him.

Following the kick charge down by Wigan. I doubt he'll see that much running space ahead of him in the rest of his career!
The stats confirm what everyone has really said - errors and penalties.

| The stats for the pack are simply awful. James Graham clocks up 200 metres on a 'normal' outing, yet Kylie managed 30? I take it he spent 75 minutes on the bench?

| Those stats are pathetic, he should hand back his pay check based on that.
Leuluai: 30 - 7 (4.29) - 25 - 4 (86%) - 0 - 1
Having said that he got his 2 year extension so not to worry.

| How pathetic are Lee Smith;s stats?
For a full back (who returns kicks) to avarage so little per carry, miss half his tacklesand concede an error and a penalty.
Oh how will we cope without him.
42 Tackles from Captain Sinfield.

No, I believe he was on the bench for the victorious push against the mighty Hull FC in 2006.

Sinfield blew two overlaps by not having the speed of thought to shift the ball, his kick from the 20 was a turning point in the game which I would have taken him off for.
In terms of tackling I would be interested to know the stats in terms of how effective he is when first in to the tackle, he generally gets pushed back 5 meters until help arrives.
He is without doubt Leeds most overrated player that I can remember in the my history of watching Leeds.

| Sinfield's a good club player and a very good goalkicker as well as the captain. I've never thought, however, that he has that extra 'something' to really be considered a great beyond his career at Leeds. TBH I don't think many Leeds fans do?

Correct, great club players are regular internationals, at the moment good club players are regular GB internationals.

| I think some of our other players have real ability - Webb, Donald (on his day and as a finisher), Senior, McGuire, Lauti'iti and Peacock are exceptional individuals IMO. Given the constraints of the salary cap we'll never have absolute stars from 1-17, and neither will anyone else. The rest of the team can play to their best when it matters for Leeds, as shown by the last two GFs.

| the salary cap is a real leveler so the management takes the credit for average & youth players fitting in among the class, Sinfield fits in the set up, kicking apart he is no better than Dave Heron would have been off the booze and training 5 days a week.

That's a bit of a harsh judgement based on one game. His form last season (including the GF) and in the early part of this season suggest Leeds would have been well-served keeping him.
As well as the other players already mentioned, Lauitiiti's stats are pretty poor for one of our elite players. Not much of an impact from the bench from him.

AS I saw it we didn't seem to go down the left hand side too much, after Keith's initial knockons he didn't seem to get presented the ball much in a position where he could run at his opposite number.
Considering that he has been one of our best attacking options this season that, to me, was surprising.

donald has ability but sinfield, by implication, doesn't ?!?!
bang goes your credibility
like tad said, how do we ever win a game with such rubbish as Sinfield and Diskin in the team .... especially as these "mediocre" players have been a mainstay over 5 years
the monday morning quarterbacks on southstander have spoken again

I know of one poster who does, who this week stated that: [url=viewtopic.php?t=421276&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=75[i:2l2qcns7'He's simply not been the dominant force in the whole league that he was under Smith's stewardship.'

I wouldn't personally go that far but I think Sinfield has made the very most of his abilities.
