i dont know about u lot but he is really starting to get on my nerves,he is so anti leeds its untrue..he spoke a really good game but after we won the grand final u know that one saints played better and in his view were the better team over the year yes that one he changed and is so anti leeds now....get barrie and terry from the NL1 and let them do his job....

I agree. It was so blatant. He really hates Leeds. Despises and wishes disease upon every inhabitant I expect. Completely ruined the coverage.

I seem to recall that this is the same Phil Clarke that said the Saints were the best side in the competition after the Grand Final last season- just after they lost and then had to eat his words on boots n all the following week. i think you're being paranoid really. I don't think he's anti leeds but i think he prefers saints style and sees them as the best team, despite us being champions. He's made numerous comments showing this over the past 18 months.

In terms of anti leeds he's very quick to pick up on when decisions go our way.

Like in the second when he rolled off a list of decisions that had gone our way like he'd noted them down in anticipation.

Just other little stuff, like at the end he talked with passion and enthusiasm about catsleford and their effort, but then he'll round it off in a downbeat and depressed tone with ''but leeds are the champions i guess and they took their chances''.

Porbably just all in the mind but i get the impression he's not a big fan.

If the weather had stayed fine Cas would have been blown away. However the funniest comment tonight was, "The Jungle has the best playing surface in SL".

It kind of makes up for all the brown nosing Stevo does though..

Phil Clarke has made no secret that he is not a Leeds fan. There was the thinly veiled accusation that we cheat after last years Grand Final. Clarke seems to pay little heed to the commentator's rule that you should remain neutral and this is one of the reasons why he is poor at his job.

It doesn't bother me so much that we are fairly obviously not the most popular team with the Sky crowd, but I do think it's time for a change of personel. They are just boring to be honest.

If Leeds played more like St Helens Phil Clarke would give them more credit.

Listening to his (and Bill Arthur's) commentary on the Leeds - St Helens 2003 semi final had to be heard to be believed. They made David Doyle-Davidson sound sane..... well almost.

Would that be the one where we went 7 points in front with 30 seconds to go, and Phil still reckoned Stains could pull off a victory?

Probably. I can't remember any specifics from the commentary (without getting the video out) but I recall the win was only enhanced further by stuffing it up the commentary team as well as Saints.

Phil Clarke is like the current spot I have on my backside, occasionally it causes some annoyance but generally you forget it is there and eventually it will disappear and will be then be irrelevant.

Every person on a sport show is meant to be reasonble fair, i have never heard Clarke say a good word about Leeds, watching re runs of the last two grand finals on V+ box, each time he implies Saints have been robbed.
Just be fair Mr Clarke.

Sports commentary on television is generally speaking of pretty poor quality. Particularly on Sky.

Whilst the viewer has the right to expect something far better, Rugby League is no different to any other sport in this regard.

Don’t often hear what Mr Clarke has to say about Leeds TBH but I’ve always thought he’s not a bad summariser (albeit being heavily Wigan bias)

It’s Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dumber who fill the commentary with inane ramblings and need replacing ASAP.

Would be great if it happend, eddie and stevo fall out ouf the wardrobe, stevo's got eddies wig on, all caught on film by league express, and they all get the bullet from sky.
